Can someone explain to me the concept of a non-committable offer? Is that the coaching staff's version of the Tony Butler non-committable verbal? What exactly are we offering when it is non-committable? Are we telling the recruit we kinda like you but it's still early in the process and we might be able to do much better than you. However, if it turns out that you are the best we can do then, sure, we'd love to have you.
How well do you think that would work at a bar if you went up to a woman at 10:00 and said "you really seem like someone I would like to spend some time with...but let me get back to you at 2:00."
