I know that this was discussed earlier this week when we found out that the Miami game was going to be our now standard noon start. Since I am retired and have time to explore different time wasting ideas, I wondered just how common noon games are for the other schools in the ACC. I looked at the following site (http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/acc-football-schedules.php) to see if other schools are so tied into noon games. I was shocked at how unusual Pitt's game times are compared to the other ACC teams. Pitt will play 2 games outside the noon-1 pm window. The next closest team schedule is Duke with twice as many afternoon and night games than Pitt. Then the number of games played outside the noon window by other teams goes from 5 to 8 out of 12.
Does the ACC office and network have the final say in selecting these games? I hope Pitt's administration isn't opting to schedule these games at noon. Is there a Steeler conflict that causes all of these noon kickoffs? If this has been explained before missed it but find it hard to believe year after year Pitt keeps playing so many noon games.
