Maybe FSU should take their usual lawsuit approach: "Yes, we signed a contract but now it turns out we dont like the contract and we feel the contract is illegal so we will find a Tallahassee fanboy judge and get it voided."

Isn't it amazing.......these programs who had "forever" coaches when they eventually have to replace them, they tend to really go through the coaches and in many cases just fall back to ordinary programs.

I am thinking now FSU. Va Tech. Nebraska. Michigan kind of struggled a bit after Bo. Oklahoma had some dark days. Florida. Even Ohio State for awhile.

It has been fun to watch them get humbled, but Norvell won the league last year. They lost a lot of players to the NFL, so a step back should’ve been expected. He has put together a couple of really good recruiting classes. They’d be foolish to fire him now.

His record before and after Jordan Travis has been dreadful. Is he a good coach or did he luck into a good QB? Still, $63 million is just too much. Even if he goes 1-11, they wont fire him.

Yes, Pitt hammered them down in Tallahassee in 2020. No doubt he benefitted from Travis and also Verse, Fiske, Keon Coleman… did a great job of recruiting those guys from the portal. Now we’ll see if he can recruit his own roster. But sort of like Narduzzi wasn’t getting fired after 3-9, I think Norvell is safe no matter how the rest of the season plays out.

You can add Texas, Alabama, USC and Georgia to that list. Your program is only as good as your head coach.

Yeah Alabama is the perfect example. No program is immune to a bad higher and then a regression. Just some can quickly rebound with a good hire. Others, they likely only were good because of the coach and stability. There is no stability in college football anymore with NIL and coaches constantly leaving, and fans constantly expecting immediate gratification.

He went 38-15 at Memphis.

It's impossible to win at a level that is acceptable at FSU without a good QB. They obviously whiffed this past off-season.

It really makes you wonder who in the heck is approving these deals at the University? Are they simply stupid or nuts? At some point these deals are getting so big that the State government is going to want to get involved (since FSU and others are state funded).
