Notre Dame pre-game?

Any advice for pre-game at Notre Dame? I see the Alumni Association is doing a tailgate. I wonder if that would be worthwhile. I remember reading the one in Charlotte wasn't that good (too crowded, long lines for food, etc) and actually I liked just getting something to eat/drink in downtown Charlotte before the game. Would ND be similar?

Hipsters? I’ve always found alumni tailgates to skew a little old. For example, the average age at the Peach Bowl was “dead”.

Pick up a sixer or a pint of whatever you like to bend an elbow with and go make friends. There will be no shortage of people, friendly and enemy, who will shoot the bull with you and be eager to feed you. Just don’t assume that you’re entitled to their booze.

Do not try to sneak beer in, they will take your ticket. I got busted but the girl still let me in though.

it should, hotel is the killer. I'm doing Chicago so that is adding to my cost somewhat
