Should be the Seattle Snowflakes!
The Seattle Rioters would be more in tune with the current environment in that city.Should be the Seattle Snowflakes!
It's true - Seattle has pretty much replaced Pittsburgh as the home of organized labor. And they can be quite militant, just like Pittsburgh used to be.
I just looked it up. What a cool name. They just became my second favorite NHL team. The Seattle WHAT?

Sea Dragons exist. The Kraken is a really stupid name. Sounds like a roller coaster. Shoulda just been the Dragons.
Ironically, there was a Seattle Dragons team that just recently competed in the XFL. I know someone’s trying to acquire all the rights to the league, names, etc. so perhaps that name was taken? The Kraken is a really stupid name. Sounds like a roller coaster. Shoulda just been the Dragons.
The Zamboni can be unmarked black vans. The secondary logo should be buildings Being set on fire by Antifa
I think you nailed it. Hockey jerseys can’t really be judged until you see them on the ice contrasted against the color of the ice and the opponents sweaters. I absolutely love the branding, but do think the jerseys lag a bit behind.Seattle does a great job with fitting team names to the region: Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners, Supersonics, Kraken, etc.
They had a sweet teaser video yesterday getting ready for the name release.
I love the name, logo is decent, and I'll have to wait to see the uniforms on the ice. As of now, they're meh. There were a lot of cool concept logos and uniforms. Here are a couple of my favorite:

The S logo is cool- the Nickname is stupid
The marketing VP got up and explained that the largest octopus ever found was in the waters of Puget Sound. No it isn’t a Kraken, but they played off that fact and made some cool branding and story telling around it.Kraken is not regional to the pacific

I’d say using Sea Monsters as a team nickname with the same logo would have been a large improvementIt's not that the Kraken is from there but more that the Kraken is a sea monster.
Yeah
That’s a stretch
It’s just a bad nickname
Sockeye would be more appropriate
Sound - if ya want the alliteration and nods to both music history and puget.
Sea lions Or sea monsters more generally
Sockeye would be more appropriate
remember the mid-80's here? That TV actor from Starsky & Hutch got involved in the big Teamster flair-up since his brother was tied to the region.
Which nonsense? You can’t discuss a damn thing anymore without some Trumphumpers or dipshit liberals interjecting their nonsense into the conversation.....
This name seems too close to this name.I like the Kraken name, but Sockeyes would've been pretty sweet too.
Now seems the perfect time to launch a new professional sports team.Seattle does a great job with fitting team names to the region: Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners, Supersonics, Kraken, etc.

Any analysis of the New Jersey Devils? Here is my question: You represent an area on the West Coast adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, and you select as your mascot a mythical Norse sea monster which in legend terrorizes the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea, half a world way from you. Why?
At least Minnesota had a legitimate reason for picking the Vikings: the large Scandinavian population in Minnesota.
