1. Overheard someone near us say that the "losses aren't as hard to take as you get older...". My wife said that it described me these days. There's a certain numbing effect to losses, which is why my FB interest is at a low point since 1968. At least then I had hope & anger to fuel me. That said, I have every confidence that PITT hoops will get back on track, and maybe as early as next year.
2. We got slapped around for the second time by a mediocre ACC team. All those pundits who said we needed to go for speed & athleticism to compete in this league were flat-out wrong. I said 2 years ago that the ACC would have to adjust to Pitt. Well, anybody else want a return to our recent history of bully-ball? Hell, just get someone who LOOKS a bit mean.
3. We have a 7-man rotation that has NO size or strength. And no scorer. None. The results are clear.
4. Frankly, it might be best if we don't make any post-season tourney....time to re-tool the roster.
5. I know people claim that the difference between a 4 and a 5 isn't important, but when you have a decent 4 trying to defend the paint w/o any help from whoever is plugged into the other 4/5 spot, failure will follow.
6. Our guards are good enough, not great, but the donut hole gives them no help.
7. I'm hoping we can steal a couple wins to make it a .500 year.
