I noticed a tweet the other day about Jamie Dixon watching Rawle Alkins. I had serious doubts, and it turns out Pitt was not there for Rawle, but for Mustapha. Either way, it is not a good use of time for Pitt. Dixon spent a lot of time right after the season watching Mustapha, and I questioned it at that time. If you remember correctly, I knew four months ago that this commitment would fall apart. It was essentially common knowledge on this board.
There are a lot of good players out there. No idea why the staff continues to watch him, but at some point you have to be realistic and move on. I understand how hard they work and their recruiting philosophy, but planning can be as important as the actual recruiting for a school like Pitt.
