With the loss of Jake Kradel and the injury to Gabe Houy the line was forced into a few different realignments. For some reason since his return Houy has been at guard instead of returning to right Tackle, which has been manned by Matt Goncalves. It seems to me that Goncalves is not nearly as sound as a pass protector as Houy, and we have seen the line as a whole struggle over the last 2-3 games with pass protection.
I get that we're most likely trying to field our 5 best O-linemen, but sometimes the 5 best individuals, particularly when played out of position, don't always have the same chemistry and don't always make for the best overall unit.
I'm not sure if Drexel is playing hurt, but he's not looked the same since sitting out the Syracuse game. The middle of the line has not run blocked well, and Drexel's bad snaps killed at least two drives during the ACC championship game.
I'd like to see Houy back at RT, Goncalves at RG, Zubovic at C, Minor at LG , Warrent at LT.
With the extra prep time bewteen now and the bowl game this group should have time to gel into a pretty solid unit.
