O.T. -- Uniform thread: some teams choosing to "go dark" with new uni's. (link)

I think its pretty obvious that Pitt will institute the "Midnight Panther" uniforms that that one guy had on Twitter. Fans loved it, players loved, even these new coaches loved it. But instead of listening to the fans and players, Pederson threatened to sue the guy. Kinda funny, actually.

I think this was part of the comment Barnes made about not listening to their fans. The fans, well, at least the ones on Twitter LOVED that uniform set and so did the players, so much so that when we got new recruits at that time, they posted themselves in the midnight Panther unis before the blue and gold.

Also, when you consider the fact that Narduzzi and his coaches are wearing a lot of black and gray/silver, I think the writing is on the wall for this for a change-up next year.

I won't have any input in the matter, but if I did, I'd insist that they go with midnight blue rather than black - if only to be truer to the school colors.

I would never let a Pitt team take the field with any other colors than blue 'n gold (or white, trimmed with blue 'n gold).

Agree 100%. But some fans are followers.

If I was king of college football, there would be a rule that you can have as many uniforms that you want, provided they are all within your color scheme.

Didn't we learn our lesson with the Nike black uniform abortion a few years ago? Stay blue

I'm OK with black, everybody is doing it. However, just to keep it "blue," I would not be opposed to a very deep midnight blue that basically looks black anyway.

Pederson threatened to sue the guy. .

And I remember Paco explaining why that was the correct move.

That, and those uniforms were actually quite ugly, IMO. As others have said, our colors are blue and gold.
Though I do appreciate the irony of some fans loving these uniforms.

Oregon wore black and silver to the title game. Not saying we should dress like Oregon but if the players want black and silver and if recruits like it, then its going to happen. Personally, I dont care all that much. I like the script being back and would like to maybe do 1-2 games per year of a fancy alternate uniform. I'd rather not change combos every week........but everyone else is doing it so.
