Very trueWhat's that have to do with it. We had a budget in 2012, 2013, 2014 and half of 2015 and they never went to trial.
I couldn't agree more!!! They are either waiting for them to all die or hoping that if they wait long enough, we will all forget about it. "Out of sight...out of mind"Or is the Grand Plan to keep postponing the legal process until they're all dead?![]()

I fear the State's case must be weak or they would have been more forceful in moving this thing forward. Add in the three ring circus with the AG, the state Judiciary, all circling back to the Sandusky fiasco, and who knows? There is also the messy issue of the PSU counsel playing both sides of the fence....kind of a dicey legal issue that muddies the water as well.
Not sure what happened to "Justice delayed is justice denied"? My guess is the defense in this case is clever and they're taking advantage of every loophole/technicality etc. to delay this trial, thinking the longer it goes on, the more people forget about the facts. Then there may quietly be a settlement, or outright dismissal and it will be gone and forgotten.
Sad state of affairs, but this has always been the saddest kind of tragedy all around. I'm sure it will never be forgotten by the abused kids, and that is the biggest tragedy of all.
No. Nobody cares about the Sandusky stuff anymore. Sending them to trial would hurt the healing process.
It is called justice and I think there are at least 46 people that want to see them go before a judge.
What world are you living in? And it was 46 counts, not 46 victims.
This isn't an original thought on my part, but I'm of the opinion that if the case would ever go into the courtroom, there might be evidence brought forth that would expose some high-placed "others" who are involved. So for this reason, a lot of people want this story to go away. While I agree. I believe even the prosecution has lost their will/stomach to proceed. And while everyone would agree it is best to put if behind, I think they are hoping that as time goes by, the prosecution obviously isn't really interested in moving this forward, they find some snag to dismiss the case.
There is probably some really ugly stuff that with the 3 Stooges out of their jobs, Sandusky in Jail, and JoePa dead, they figure "why drudge up and pile on". Not to mention seeing the zealots in action, fearing political backlash against them, even fearing a bit for their safety.
I don't think the delay is purely on the defense's side. I guess I am saying they are all hoping this goes away. Face it, the prosecution seen some of the obvious black and white evidence against Paterno and PSU and how the cult fails to even acknowledge, the most obvious facts. The prosecution probably sees this as a lose/lose proposition. Go forward, and lose the case, well they look like fools. Go forward and win the case then; a) what is gained? b) the PSU cult public will never accept anything but total vindication and c) political suicide.
Justice has absolutely ZERO part in this would be trial.

Mark Madden's original ideas - as farfetched as they sounded at the time - might have legs after all. When it all draws to a close, I suspect that we'll never really know the full story.

Apparently the state's pension board does.Unfortunately we will never know the whole truth. Does anybody reall believe that Sandusky didn't start molesting young BOYS until he was in his FIFTIES!
And no one kicks the can further down the road than a PA politician. Our outrageous (but needed) gasoline tax is the result of the years of neglectfully kicking the can down the road re: bridge and road maintenance.I don't think that it's a matter of a strong or weak case. It's a catch 22. You do the right thing morally and it's political suicide in PA. So what's the best choice. Button up and kick the can down the road.

I believe the madden story as well. It was derailed when that Philly guy who makes accusations up was discredited and then that part of the story was quickly put to bed
I've been thinking that a savvy reporter ought to research where all the new gas tax money is going. And no one kicks the can further down the road than a PA politician. I dunno...you might have a point.I've been thinking that a savvy reporter ought to research where all the new gas tax money is going.
