After a whole year of watching numerous games and odsetving bowl games even closer I have come to a final conclusion. In today’s college football you have to have to Have To run some type of spread offense to be successful. Other Than Alabama and even they have gone to basically a 50/50 split there is not a single team that runs a pro style offense that will win a championship or be successful over a more than season flash in the pan. Look at teams like Michigan Stanford USC and Even Florida and LSU until this year have outrecruited just about any team in America but they still aren’t in the playoffs the game at the college level has evolved penn state has beaten Ohio state in the last 4 years Michigan has not. Teams like Kentucky this year and ucf over the last few years with frost have taken classes similar to ours in ranking or lower and have produced great seasons without the overall roster talent we have. I’m not saying I want air raid or anything crazy I am not even saying you have to get rid of Watson it would probably be wise but what they have to do as a program is adapt and evolve with the game. If they are not 8 win seasons will be the max this program will ever accomplish again. Even usc realized this and brought in kingsburry, Alabama did it if we aspire to ever bring back the glory days of Pitt football and truly contender for playoffs and acc championship this has to be done.
