We need to stop saying "Pitting" to mean late-game stupidity to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory, because fans see with Michigan today (or against Appalachian State in '07), Bama two years ago vs Auburn, Stanford against Cal & their own band, and all 4 last-second losses of Nebraska's this year that this stuff happens to every program no matter how talented, and frankly you really shouldn't be a Pitt fan if you expect so little from the Panthers that you use "Pitting" as a way of saying something negative. We've shown a lot of heart and determination this year, our defense has shown it will only get tougher throughout a game, our offense has shown us it won't implode at the end of a game, and it's all been shown consistently.

NEW DEFINITION FOR PITTING
Playing with toughness and onions in a game-winning or game-preserving drive at a crucial point in the game.
Pitting can be accomplished by our offense, defense, or special teams (more so on a big play, not a drive).

I like the new definition better than the old one.
