Oh this is too good to pass up

"If you ever need someone to give bizarre press conferences on the coach's front lawn that embarrass the hell out of the university in the middle of its worst scandal ever, I'm your man." - JayPa's resume conclusion.

In fairness, that was Scott (not Jay).

Yeah you're right, I forgot Scott existed. Which was a good thing. Now I remember bleh.

First off not a jay fan, terrible coach needs to write books for a living. I'm sure he is only doing this to add credibility to his case.
Not that any of these teams would hire him anyway but hey it gives the lawyers something to talk about.
For what it's worth I played at penn state or ped state on this site back in the late 70's and early 80's and there was no better game in town.
We won a few we lost a few but damn it was hard nosed football.

He sent a letter to Dana too. I can only imagine his reaction when he read it. I could see him passing it around and laughing about it.

If it were anyone other than Jay I wouldn't think much of it besides a guy out of work trying to find a job, but he was born on third base and has been celebrating his triple for too long - I like the humbling.

Heard he's schlepping some pi$$-water with his dad's picture photoshopped on it now.

"Mr. Meyer, I believe that I have a unique set of talents. I am skilled in the art of disguise. My dad would sometimes leave the sidelines during games, and no one knew. Additionally, I am an expert driver. Anytime my dad needed to dodge the media, I was able to skillfully weave through innocent people. But most importantly, I am skilled in the role of public perception. I can twist any narrative away from the truth. I also have personally saved my brother scott from 3 heart attacks by giving him CPR. Also my entrepreneur skills are evident by my craft beers, which I have included with this application. Also there is a picture of dad and you that I would love for you to autographed and don't hesitate to use the enclosed self addressed stamped envelope I have included. Finally I have included a few left over campaign buttons I had lying around the house that I made for my close political defeat. You can keep those and pass them out to your staff.

Best of luck and I look forward to your response.

Nothing like pimping yourself out. After all he does indeed bring a diverse culture, pedophile development an
cover up not one of the degree's offered at OSU!

With the lawsuit in July 2014, Jay definitely went "all in."

Nobody begrudged Jay taking all of 2012 off work. Perfectly understandable given the family circumstances. Taking a year off didn't make him less marketable as a football coach.

Grieve and re-collect yourself for a while, and then after that time is over, buck up and go get a job. Even if it's something "beneath" you like QB Coach at Lehigh or Bucknell or something. Make fun of Jay all you want --- but that's the type of job he 100% is qualified for and likely could get as well.

And once you get that job at a Patriot League school (and move back up to FBS after a few years), spend your time concentrating on football. Leave the PR fight as regards JoePa for your siblings and others. That's why you hire those rich Washington lawyers and PR guys anyway.

But Jay chose the "other path in the road." Dumb decision IMO, but you can't say he's not "all in" as regards that particular path.

He just isn't a very bright guy. Personable and all, but just not very sharp and frankly not very motivated. Ran for office, but even with some good name behind mucked up getting on the darn ballot.

Your point is spot on. He is sending letters to these major programs begging for a job when, if he was serious about football, his path was to strategically get an OC job at a little lower level, do well there, then have some actual own his own success to go with the name and get into a solid D1 job.

Honestly, the guy is how old and still does not know WTH he wants to do with his life, given a LOT of privileges.

Well, from what I've read, he seems to have plenty of $$ to fall back on. Glad you brought up his attempt at public office also. If I was him, I'd set up a foundation with all the accumulated wealth of the Paterno's and be the director. It would certainly give him the opportunity to do some good in the world.

The "...asked me for a job" pic is hilarious.

How will the cult ever reconcile Jay's line "My father had tremendous respect for you and I share that respect as well." The cult despises Meyer. So, they have to either suck down the fact that the OSU coach that they've vilified regularly on their board for years was deeply respected by Joe, or that his son (who they suddenly fell in love due to his public support of his old man) is a lying suck up.
Plus, it is really embarrassing seeing him reference his daddy in an application letter. Hanging on to daddy's coat tails after he is in the grave. Really pathetic.

The Penn State fans have a lot more respect for Urban than you think. I still think he checked out at Florida for reasons we will never know but he is a stud and a perfect fit for OSU.

Wow. Pitt and Penn State fans coming together in a thread and agreeing. Laughing together, no insults or bickering. Is this the beginning of the apocalypse?

In Jay's lawsuit against PSU it declares, "That prior to the Sandusky/PSU scandal Jay was a TOP CANDIDATE for HEAD COACHING JOBS AT COMPARABLE UNIVERSITIES" - talk about a guy who just doesn't get it. I wish I was in the room while that was drafted. I would have fallen backwards out of my chair and had to stuff my tie in my mouth to hide my laughter.

The Paterno's do have a lot of money but fortunes are blown everyday by people much smarter than Jay and between him and Scott it only seems like a matter of time.

Could you imagine a 45 year old, or however old Jay is, coming into a job interview (which this isn't even was) and saying "my dad had a lot of respect for you," and genuinely thinking that's going to carry weight.

Would any employer on Earth take this person seriously? Maybe, MAYBE, I can understand saying something like this when you're 22 years old and trying to get your first job out of college. But a grown man who should have already established his own life by this point?

Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe this.

Talk about delusional. This cat actually believes that he was a D1 college coach on merit, not because his old man was head coach and emperor.

Being a D1 College Coach is not that hard, they constantly hire guys that just finished up playing careers that won't go pro.

Obviously Jay was lying because there is no University comparable to Ped State.

The Fan ripped him this morning on this. Using his dead Father as a reference. No shame because he has no true sel respect.
Then again, how could he have self respect?

The letters were sent out to prove he remains unemployed because of what happened and how he lost his job so he could sue the university.

Also, not sure if anyone saw them but they looked like chicken scratch. Who does that hoping to really get a job?

He was the QB coach at a school that's put one true starting QB in the NFL in the last twenty years and probably ruined more highly sought after prospects at that position. But somehow, that's not his fault.

Has it been confirmed yet if the Paterno beer shall contain at least one ounce per can of real paterno family urine?....
