Ohio State is a Blueblood and the best program north of the Mason Dixon line for the last 20 years with 2 national titles in it's pocket and multiple big ten championships over that span.
You're right, Pitt was never in the picture. Why might that be?
Seems to me three decades with at least 3 losses per regular season is the culprit especially when compared to a program that shudders at the thought of 3 losses.
Building a foundation isn't sexy and not so long ago we suffered the ignominious status of most coaches in one season.
So unless you can work miracles, you're just going to have to deal with the thankless job of building a foundation.
5 star players rarely look for anything but sexy.
And OSU isn't dominating Pa. They never have. But they certainly put players in the pro ranks and that is what 5 stars want.

Could be about the coordinators but I'm wondering if other schools are floating Franklin's expectations versus his salary/buyout. Plus he's only under contract til 2022 at the moment so a kid starting in the 2020 class doesn't exactly have confidence that he will finish under the same coach. It's interesting that he hasn't gotten the token 2 year extension.

Here's how I see things:
We have a returning QB Pickett and he has to be better than last season.
We lost RB's but have 4 talented RB's who as a group will pick up the slack.
Our LB's were never D1 material and IMO we improve in that position group.
We have good depth at OL and DL we'll atleast be as good as last season.

WR's same as last year just like DB's.
Saftey up in the air but Ford must be a step up!

Overall atleast as good as last season.

Nitters have a complicated transition to a new QB, new TE, WR's and they lost a star RB, and alot
of key guys on the line!


Sure they have other talent but Franklin hasn't been one to develop talent IMO!
