I was in Cleveland this past week and weekend and met several Ohio State Top Boosters. They told me many thing that happen at Ohio State and boy they are fun to be with at a Picnic I attended with them in North Olmsted on Thursday Evening. Apparently, Brian Hoyer a Former QB Back Up of the Steelers, Browns, and MSU Grad is from North Olmsted and now in Houston with Pitt's Tom Savage? All I can say, I have many Michigan Jokes!

The next day and night I was invited by a friend with Jesuits from John Carroll for Catholic Charties and other Catholic Church delegations from Parma, Ohio and that evening to a Saint Ignatius High School Event, that is home to WVU & NCAA Executive VP Oliver Luck's High School Football days with many more of Ohio State Fans and Alumni that also go on the cruise.

They are a very impressive group and dedicated Alumni and Donors to the Football Program and support for Charities and other good causes. It was fun to talk to them and learn about the Program and Cruise. It is done a few weeks after Signing Day!

They invited me to join them on what is coming to be an Annual Urban Meyer's Cruise for Charities every February. Apparently last year over 30 Ohio State Players NFL & Former Players join Ohio State Key Supporters and Alumni and have a great time going on this Cruise and participate in raising millions in Charities Money as well as commit to keep developing the program for support.

I think this is something Pitt Coach Narduzzi should do with Chancellor Gallagher, AD Scott Barnes and Pitt Alumni Players and NFL Stars. Raising that kind of Money for Pitt & UPMC Cancer Research and doing it with Football Alumni & Supporters would be good for the University and Program.

Jim Tressel and his wife attends and I forgot to ask if if MSU's D'Antonio starts to show up too? I think I may attend just to see how it works and it is a good time to go south anyway. Apparently, they had some problems on this years earlier cruise that was delayed a few days due to fog?

I wonder if this would be something that Pitt could do on the rivers as part of the kick off for the season?
Cruise and a Bar-B-Que on the river for the team either to start training camp or at the end of training camp!

Wow, what a great idea to get it all started. Former Mayor Bob O'Conner (May He R.I.P.) used to hold an Annual Thank You For Your Contribution Party every year with Fireworks. It was always a sold out event filled to the brim with People and Children. He would only charge $25.00 and it was a way to reward his loyal people and grow his supporters.

JHud986, you hit on a great idea for Coach Narduzzi to hold High School Coaching Clinics on such a Gateway Clipper Seminar. ;)

As well as, Chancellor Gallagher, AD Barnes and Coach Narduzzi invite High School Coaches and their Families to get to know Pitt Football at such an event?:)

Of Course, Pitt could charge more to have Donors help grow Pitt to begin building such a base of support and then go on a Florida Cruise just like Ohio State and nothing stopping anyone from joining that Meyer's Cancer Cruise but have one for Pitt too at the same time. It is only about $1500!

I do not know if a Pitt Posters are on the Barnes's Fan Support Committee but some food for thoughts for Pitt Football and Sports?;)

I thought Quintin Wirginis family owns the Gateway Clipper Fleet. Thought I saw it on tv or read about it somewhere. I was surprised, can anyone verify it?
