OL Transfer

Yep, he did but 2nd team DL didn't play very well. But I think AP knew Pitt was going to just try to run the ball and they began crashing the Pitt line not worrying about any pass coverage.

Did Wilson, the transfer from Hampton play against Austin Peay?

Wilson did play and in the 2nd quarter even played some at RT with the first team OL (went in for Houy) ....... Carson Van Lynn also substituted for Warren at LT with the 1st team OL in the 2nd quarter ...... both did fine when playing with the 1st team.

We noticed him as well. He did pretty well in the first half. I think after you call off the dogs it is very difficult to play because everyone is conscious of not running up the score and embarrassing a team.

But, I think you should still tell players to try to score. Just make sure it is all with your subs in the game. I think when you don't then that is when there is an increased chance of
injuries.

I thought he looked fine when he was in with the 1st team, but he wasn't facing the athletes at DE he's gonna see during the ACC schedule. Neither were any of the O linemen.

Well, they do see some amazing athletes when practicing. They’ll need little adjustment to the speed of the game since they reportedly practice at full tilt.

Are you suggesting that the coaches' decision to call off the dogs and put in the backups influences the backups themselves to play less hard to avoid embarrassing the other team? Are you suggesting the coaches ask the players to take it easy in that circumstance?

to that, I can only say:

I think it is human nature to relax a bit in that type of situation. I don't think that they explicitly told them not to try and score. But I think play calling reflects intention. And the goal at that point was to not run up the score.
