Old School Big East

I have fond memories of watching the Noon Big East Game of the Week with Mike Gorman and Dave Gavitt. Always a banger matchup!

I thought it was so cool how they used to televise the starting lineups. I guess this was before media timeouts. Games comes on at 7, starting lineups at 7:05 or whatever, tip at 7:10, game over before 9. If you ever watch FIBA ball, there's only 2 media timeouts per half and coaches dont call many TOs so the games take 90 minutes.

Current NCAA games aren't fitting into those 2 hour windows anymore, between commercials, TOO MANY TOs and replays that take 10 minutes to decide a 2 or a 3, 5 minutes later in games time or 5 minutes to reset the clock from 47.9 to 47.2 seconds, that's why I hate Pitt getting the 9PM or 2PM instead of Noon or 7PM.

Most of the games are on phones or computers so why do start times matter?
