We have heard nothing about Ollison in camp after his terriffic spring and Narduzzi didn't mention him among top 4 RBs. Rumor had it he had an injured finger; but thought he might be back by the start of the season. Now I saw on the Digest someone said he had surgery on a finger and is in a cast.

I guess that solves the mystery.

Man, I was thinking about him. Thanks for the post!

I think Ollie has potential to be a beast. Hopefully he and James can successfully co-exist when JC moves along. Barring injuries to the others Hall should redshirt. For his many deficiencies, PC recruited the hell out of the RB and OL positions. Left us in excellent shape there.

Yes, thanks for letting us know.

I too was caught off guard when I heard that comment from Narduzzi about having 4 RBs to take to games and then proceeding to name Conner, James, Ibrahim, and Hall. I hope the injury won't put him out for the entire season.

I too am excited about all of the quality RBs we have, but there is just something about having a guy with the bigger Conner-like frame who can bang ahead for a few yards next year when it is really needed. Ollison is big, strong, cuts well and is fast for his size. He has all of the tools to be a really special player.

The broken pinky really came at a bad time. After being neck and neck with James as the backup in camp last summer, the injury has thrown him back into 5th in the race. If he gets healthy in a reasonable period of time, I would still assume Hall will redshirt, but if not, Ollison is really buried on the depth chart.

Even though Conner is unlikely to get 35 carries many games, no single-back offense is going to keep 5 RB's happy. Ollison's best shot might not come until next season, when Conner is presumably in the NFL.

There's some precedent for that. In the early '80's, Bryan Thomas rately played until the 3rd game of his redshirt junior year, yet led Pitt in rushing for his last two seaskns and may still hold the record for passes caught by a Pitt back.

tape those fingers and get in there. him missing this time could really hurt his chances going forward.

Terrrible timing indeed.. Spring and summer ball is the time to make your mark.. Season starts, team is focused on preparation, not depth chart.. Always opportunity to move up based on injuries and poor play by others but those are small windows of opportunity.

Not sure where I heard this or even if I heard this, but I think I might have heard that he is moving to the other side of the ball, on defense maybe LB, not sure. Don't really know why I think I heard this, "strange"

Cap pitt, that would be very big news.. cant imagine that to be true. If so, you definitely have some very exclusive "inside news."
