. . . make very clear is the intense competition that exists between Pitt and PSU. It ABSOLUTELY still does and will continue.
Whenever anything negative about the nits is pointed out on this site, there are sometimes those that ask "why is this on a Pitt board?" The continual recruiting wars between the 2 are likely at least part of the reason why. Not at all unusual for competitors to point out what they believe to be the others' flaws and problems. And that goes both ways.
Pitt and the nits are and will be in competition for several of the same football recruits 7/24/365 every year. This head-to-head battling will likely get even more intense now with Mr. Bluster as the HC up there. HCPN and his staff appear to be extremely competitive and aggressive types. So look for the recruiting fights to become even more heated.
Personally, I think this kind of stuff is fascinating for those interested in CFB recruiting and in Pitt football. Also, social media has opened a whole new window into recruiting. I don't necessarily agree with how it is used by some individuals at times, but I understand things are not likely to ever revert back to the way it used to be when first hand, real time feedback from the recruits themselves was almost impossible for the general public to find out.
Think this competition is heated now? Wait until they start playing each other on the field in 2016. Regardless, neither one is going to win all of the head to head recruiting battles. There'll also be some times that a recruit that both are fighting for won't go to either school. But it's going to be extremely entertaining to follow this stuff. Just have to try to understand that there'll be ups and downs with twists and turns. Things can change quickly because recruiting can be so fluid and dynamic. Plus, young guys can change their minds about things over time, or even from day to day. Interpreting tweets or the meaning of sometimes posed pictures accurately can at times be a matter of personal opinion on the part of the reader. Or not. A lot of it might depend on an individual's perspective, too.
