Dud after dud.

Who would've thought that the best bowl game so far would be Duke vs Indiana?

The P5 conferences after tonight (assuming Ole Miss holds on to their 34-6 lead against OkSt):

SEC: 6-2 (3 games remaining)
P12: 6-2 (2 games remaining)
B1G: 5-4 (1 game remaining)
ACC: 4-5 (1 game remaining)
B12: 1-3 (3 games remaining)

Too many, too long after reg season, and half have depleted coaching staffs by game time = mostly crap games.
But I guess enough people still watching.

Proves that there were way too many. Fewer games would have resulted in better (at least more competitive) matchups.

Not sure about that. Most of these matchups looked good on paper.
And the close games have mostly been played by teams that wouldn't have been in a bowl if 15 or so were scrapped.

I'll tell you what, I watched less NYD bowl games yesterday than any point in my life. I may have paid attention 10 total minutes. tOSU/ND LOOKED like a good matchup. Iowa/Stanford looked like a good matched up. It was anything but. I did not watch any of the force fed Big 10 team (Northwestern) vs force fed Tennessee Bowl (is this matchup every year?) or even Michigan vs Florida. I watched ZERO seconds of Ole Miss and Okie State.

(Note to college football geniuses.......today we get more of the same, might be a good slot for some actual playoff bowl games).

And another note, is not America tired of mediocre Big 10 teams being forced into NYD bowl slots against who cares SEC teams? Rarely have these games make for interesting and compelling matchups.

The New Years 6 was horrible,tOSU 44 ND 28 was the closest game and it wasn't that close! Totally not watchable football at all unless your team was playing. Not a single good game.

NYD would be perfect for an all day Elite 8 playoff. then have a Final 4 the next Friday Night and Monday Night to avoid the NFL playoffs and have the NC Final at 6:00 pm on the Sunday before the Super Bowl that has no football now.

I usually enjoy watching the New Years bowls as the better teams are playing now. However, I could not get excited for most of these games and what turds they turned out to be. More blowouts than the restroom at Taco Bell !!!!!

Healthy, I would put Michigan up against any team in the ACC, and we aren't even the best team in our conference currently. Talk some more crap eh?

He does have a point....
Those B10 SEC games NYD and yesterday were the real crap.....
Additionally....IOWA sb banned for 10yrs from Pasedena for what it did to the Granddaddy...the beauty of that game, starting in sunshine and ending in the early twilight is unmatched..
But after the flyover and watching #5 run against air....had to turn it off and now must wait a whole year to get a do over....

Keep in mind that teams like FSU and Clemson are not "healthy". When those teams are fully healthy, not using backup QBs, WRs, DLs, etc., they are extremely good. See the treatment FSU gave to the Florida team a few weeks ago.

#5 turned out to be the only reason to watch that game. Man, he is good.
