The push by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency to slash federal funding will cost taxpayers money, nonpartisan group finds. Here's why.
Positive net of $25 Billion. What's the issue Bob?
There are plenty of things to legitimately criticize Trump on right now. DOGE isn’t one of them.![]()

25 billion is about triple the cost of the largest infrastructure project in the history of our Country [Panama Canal which a democrat gave away for a dollar]Agree to disagree.
Going to end up being minimal, if any net savings while critically impacting medical research and future irs revenue.
He's ****ing up everything but the border. What lousy job by Dems to hand him an easy touchdown like that.
If it’s worthwhile private equity can fund it. Our federal spending is unsustainable.Agree to disagree.

Proving Dems are stupid. Perhaps you should consider abandoning a party that has left people like you out in the cold.Agree to disagree.

Yes but think of all the boom our electronic and communication industries will gain as these people learn to code.Agree to disagree.

The tariffs are complicated, however, all the crazy lefties have made up their minds that the orange man is bad and stupid. Right now countries we are dealing with probably have all heard the saying, "you give an inch they will take a mile". They don't want to compromise. Trump is trying to get an inch or two, not necessarily a mile. Anything he can claw back in terms of concessions is a win. We can't go on like this. America 1st policies are right and necessary right now for this country's future. I wish all would stop whining and bitching. It doesn't hurt to try and fix these problems. Like I said, if we get anything it is a win.If it’s worthwhile private equity can fund it. Our federal spending is unsustainable.
Now the tariffs are a real mess for Trump/self inflicted error and Russia is way more complicated than trump anticipated. I would say his first 100 days have been rough.
Yeah I don’t disagree philosophically with some of the trade efforts. I just don’t think he has executed it well thus far. Hopefully it works out but it’s not off to a great start imo.The tariffs are complicated, however, all the crazy lefties have made up their minds that the orange man is bad and stupid. So many are worried he is going to destroy America's markets and relationships with allies. Wake up, he is working hard and has a pretty good pulse on how we are perceived by others. He will get what he can without jeopardizing our place in the world order. He has eased on some of his stances already, and will do what is necessary to achieve what he can. His goals are aligned with this country's best interests, if he fails miserably, the midterms, which aren't all that far away, will tell the tale.
It's going to take time. No one is going to get in line to make concessions. They don't feel sorry for us nor do they feel thankful that we allowed them to abuse us all these years. It's about negotiating, and I would rather have Trump doing the negotiating than practically anyone else.Yeah I don’t disagree philosophically with some of the trade efforts. Regarding execution I think you can make an argument either way. The only thing that matters is the final result. We won’t know that for at least a few more months. If there are much better deals cut then the execution was fine. More importantly I believe the main goal was to isolate and then solve the trade issues with China of which tarrifs are just one issue (IP theft and dumping are others). If this ends up changing the China dynamics significantly then it will have been a huge success.Yeah I don’t disagree philosophically with some of the trade efforts.
