Any chance Dixon can find a player.... a guard that has some ball handling skills and has one year of eligibility left... at this late stage of the game??

I would say... unlikely... and so that brings into the play the two open walk-on slots... and my contention that Dixon might be better off looking amongst the registered students.

Hey, maybe one of the football players or athletes from other sports played some PG in HS.

We are just talking depth here.

You would think some decent players playing prep ball or something wouldn't mind playing at Pitt, even if Dixon only offered a scholly for a single season to him???
Thoughts?

We'll see if Pitt gets anyone...

Can't offer a single season scholarship in a revenue sport.

Trying to find a 6'10" lottery pick isn't the same as a 5'8"-6'2" kid who can handle the ball. I know it's late ,but I can't believe they don't have someone in mind and that this decision was all Newkirks.

I hope you're right.....but I'm not sure of it. The injury happened after the season, when attention was on the Three Amigos. I know I don't want to see us playing with just James, Smith & Jones. Slim is pretty good with the ball, but who knows if he'll be OK physically. I'm sure JD believed Wilson would be good to go...let's hope so.
