Opinion on the 3-game packages this year? And for next?

I really hope they are NOT offered for next year. I really believe that next year, when it comes to ticket sales, the idea needs to be to get folks to commit to attending as many games a possible- and not "pick your 3". Yeah, yeah, I know....some of you are from out of town--- but in some cases, this will cause folks to "buy down" and not up. For example, who is going to choose next year's opener v Villanova on a flex-plan?

What good is it to select a particular seat for 3 games, and have that seat open for 3 others? It changed the dynamic in how seating was purchased and for many games, just left more empty spots around the stadium (IMO).

I think it was a great idea by the administration, and have no idea with Penn State on the schedule if they will be offered again.

personally i liked it. live in harrisburg, which is a 3.5 hour drive for me. the 3 games i saw this year: Virginia-NC-ND. kinda of expensive if i decide to stay overnight. hopefully get the 3 game deal next year and still maybe attend a few morr games.......now if i lived an hour drive from pittsburgh, i would definitely have season tickets.

Definitely great points..

They should only consider three game plans if there are still lots of tickets left at the beginning of August. Up until then they should be using the Penn State game to drive full season ticket sales.

I believe this year they offered individual game tickets before August. They need to get rid of that for next year. If you want PSU, you have to buy them all.

What they should do is not release individual PSU tickets:

After season tickets, Pitt season ticket holders get a chance to buy more.

If there's any left, Panther Club Members who aren't season ticket holders get a chance.

After that, Alumni Association members.

After that, all alumni.

If any left, offer 3 game mini plan with PSU and you pick 2.

Agree.. I have 3 seasons in South Club and can easily buy 10-12 for this game.

What with them already having sent out information about how current season ticket holders can buy extra tickets for the PSU game it seems clear that the plan will be no single game tickets. If you want tickets to that game buy a season ticket.

I'm from Carlisle and have had Five season tickets and parking pass since 2002.....With seat donation costs me about 1500...........I still have family in the area so get to see the sisters and mom when I come out and have somewhere to stay so don't spend on motels.
But hear me out.......... I don't make it to all games but usually to 5 of 7 or 6 out of 8.
The games I don't come too I have had no problem selling for say $25.00 a seat to friends. So out of my 1500 I make back easily 250/300......down to 1200...... maybe one game I'll donate to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Allegheny County. They quickly send me a letters saying I donated 140.00/150.00 to deduct on taxes as donation...........plus write off the 375.00 seat donation on taxes....basically it costs me less than a $1000........ This is my fall entertainment, love seeing old friends and family at tailgates and visiting.
It is a win/win for me. Agree the travel is sometimes a pain, but if a noon game we leave at 4am and hit gold Lot 4 by 7:30 usually.

I travel from central Pa. and make 75-80% of the home games the difficult part is always working on Saturdays I have to schedule a vacation day, so rubbing the crystal ball I must guess our home game dates or pray for a 3:30 or later start. Crystal not as good as the magic 8 all this season

I think the 3 game plan did lead to alot of empty seats in areas that should have been filled first by season tickets. Any 3 game package shouldn't even be mentioned untill 2 weeks prior to start of season. And leave psu out of it. That will boost attance in 3 other home games. Most likely The techs.

Im in the south endzone non club and many seats around me whernt the same people or empty for alot games, i belive that to be the 3 game package effect.

I travel from North Carolina and made 0 games this year (other than the Duke game).
Granted. Unusual year since I was on crutches for 6 weeks .
But no more than 2 and maybe 3 a year.
