His program is headed for the Elite 8. He did not hire the coach but it figures,. Can we ever catch a break .
I think most of us know that. He did not hire the coach but does appear to like him. He seems to be planning an extension here after the tournament.
Unless I am mistaken, Tinkle had a below .500 record in his OSU tenure before this late-season run.
I bet at the presser when he announces the extension he'll say, "if you're not excited about this extension, you're not in the right spot".
I thought Tinkle did a nice job cleaning up the mess that Craig Robinson left, but his record at OSU has been decent but unspectacular. Other than the one 5-27 year they’ve been at or better than .500 every year.
I don’t expect to see a big rush for anyone to hire Wayne Tinkle after this deep run.
Same with Capel, nobody is hiring him anytime soon either , least Oregon St made some noise in the last 4 years
And then two years later they will go 0 for the PAC12.

I think that’s true, although I think he had a lot of success before OSU.
OSU is a very difficult place to win in either of the two revenue sports.
He is an angry coach though. Always pissed about something.
It was "you're not in the right spot". I think he maybe wanted to say, you're in the wrong place, but realized he was putting his foot in his mouth and backed off a bit and said, not in the right spot. But personally, as soon as I heard him say that, I said out loud, you're right Scotty, I'm not in the right spot and called and cancelled my basketball and football season tickets I've had since the late 70s.
