Love the pic with the blue car in the foreground. Really captures the neighborhood. Went to two games there with my dad in 1969. Bimbo's Pizza was right down the street.

So I've always wondered, given that it sat a block off of Forbes Avenue, why was it called Forbes Field?

I’ve always wondered what Forbes Field would look like today had the Pirates stayed in Oakland and renovated it over the years. Perhaps they add some outfield seating and provide betting sight lines along third base. Maybe they bring the home plate seats close to the field as well. As long they would’ve kept the clock in left field!

Missed opportunity for Pitt to preserve the historic Forbes Field facade as part of the exterior of what could have been a much more interesting Posvar Hall.

for the same reason Forbes Avenue was called Forbes Avenue...to honor General John Forbes.
