Should I do Franks or the Pizza House?? I heard Cal everytime he comes back to town orders some to take back to Kentucky, but not sure which one he does.

Any of you folks from the area give me the rundown and choice of which one to try??

Thanks in advanced.

I'm not recruits but my response is wasting food is still wasting food no matter how cheap. So unless if it is a party it could be wasteful.

is ambridge a cool town that i'm unaware of? i've never been there yet many of you seem to know all the pizza places in that town

Never had a pie in Ambridge.... Vincent's is always a favorite.

I go to Police Station Pizza all the time. I think it's very good. It is thick crust so if you are a thin crust guy, it may not be for you. I have had Frank's several times and I do not care for it much.

Frank’s all day, every day. Police Station Pizza is fine for children.

What I like most about Frank’s is they basically have one size pizza and they only sell pizza. Also, they don’t sell Hawaiian Barbecue Recce’s Pieces Banana Coconut Mango pizza; they sell real pizza. And you have to wait like an hour and a half when you order on a weekend night.

That tells you all you need to know.

Frank’s is not only the best pizza in Ambridge, it’s one of the best pizza places in the region.

Toppings below the sauce = YUMMY!

I don’t really live anywhere near Ambridge but occasionally we will make a trip out there specifically for this pizza. It’s very, very good.

1. Vincents
2. Mineo’s
3. Beto’s

Pepperoni and Sausage are the toppings.

I like the three !

Try Canadian bacon and onion at Vincent's... you have to eat it there... you don't want to put in the car.. onions linger for a couple weeks.

I don’t like onions, peppers etc on Pizza.
Not sure I want the grease stain in my truck from putting that Pizza in there.

Have you ever had Shelly Pie? Supposedly a lady that worked at Vincents and makes a similar pie. I refuse to eat there as it’s not the real thing and they actually have a full menu of items besides Pizza.

Don’t forget to dip the crust in the grease of the pan.

I've had Shelly pie (located in the old VFW)many times prior to Vincent's reopening, it is good but no Vinnie pie. Shelly pie is often burnt and not nearly the condiments. You are correct on Shelly pie being an ex Vincent's employee. Comforti's in Irwin is also another spin off of Vincent's, I would definitely recommend. Comforti was a Vincent's but did not pay the Vincent royalty.. name change...
We normally hit Vincent's after most home games, usually full of PITT fans after home games.
Almost forgot.. we rip the crust and set in the middle of the pie to soak up the grease ...

A few weeks back, we had Fiori’s for the first time in a long time. Afterwards, my wife, who is very lady like and doesn’t really swear very often, looks at me and says, “Damn, that’s some good goddamn pizza!”

I just laughed because that’s very out of character for her, but it’s also testament to the quality of their pizza.

I’ll have to try the comforti’s. Me and 4 or 5 friends want to do a pizza tour and go to a different place every friday starting in the spring to see how we’s rank them.

Ya, i taught my buddy to put a couple sugar packets under the side of the pan to have the grease drip down to 1 side so you have a nice pool to dip into.

Sugar packets... :)

If you have a hankering for boardwalk New Jersey pie, you have to try Ferrari's in North Huntingdon. The owner(Mick) is a mirror personality of Seinfeld's "soup Nazi"... he lays down the corn meal for a crisp not burnt pie.

Almost forgot during Lent and if you like peirogi(spelling) pizza, have to try K'Vay's... they also have a non traditional square pie with cheddar and bacon...

I think that’s the best pizza place in Western Pennsylvania – I really do.

True story I once ate Fiori's 4 times in one day. I had left over pizza from the night before during breakfast. Went there at lunch and dinner. Then after a night at south side we stopped again before heading home.

Oh to be young again, I would die today if I tried that now.

Yeah that is what I am looking for. Pizza. I don't want some kind of salad, pierogi or ham sammich masquerading as a pizza, I want pizza. I don't live near Ambridge but was visiting customers there the other day and they mentioned these spots and I heard about them before.

Are there any places that make something similar to a chigago deep dish pizza here?

When Cal is home Police Station Pizza makes him trays of uncooked pizza that he takes back to Lexington. He always has his friends from Pittsburgh bring them when they go to Kentucky games.

What is the pizza they pile on cold cheese after it is cooked? I saw a tv segment on them and it looked good but can't remember the name.
