OT: Antonio Brown and his Toxic Masculinity

He look like one of those rich snobby English women on the titanic
Dude! Speaking of the Titanic, someone called a talk show and said it best today. Rooney is like the captain of the Titanic, who sees all of the signs in advance telling him that there is trouble on the horizon. But he ignores it all, lives in denial and proceeds as normal. Then, we all know what happened next.

Art Rooney II. “We don’t have a problem in our locker room”

Rooney is either seething or does not give a crap. This offseason and the handling of Brown and Bell will show us exactly where he stands.

He’s already suggested Tomlin needs a replay review guy so it will be interesting to see if he enforces that.

Benstonium is terrific.

Although I’d say a grown man throwing a tantrum is the polar opposite of masculinity.

Kinda like the butt hurt guys from the original commercial- which only demonstrated that Gillette isn’t for sensitive skin

The coat he wore on the sidelines during the bungle game really screamed masculinity lol
Say what do you think
Of gentlemen wearing mink
Gentle and soft
But who'd just as soon off you
For looking the wrong way as not

Mark Schlereth and James Harrison said it best the other day. Tomlin's motto is "i'll tollerate it until I can replace it".

Well, he has JuJu now who can replace the nightmare that is AB. Listen to former players like Gradkowski talk about how AB did whatever he wanted when ever he wanted. Tomlin lacks balls to put stars in line.

The Steelers have never put a lot of stock in WR's. They feel as long as they have Ben, he can make the WR, and I agree. Same thing with Bell. Conner has replaced that fool. Get your 3rd rounder and move on.

Juju is a fine player. But he's extra effective because AB draws so much extra coverage and attention. As a primary, he'd struggle.

I love ju ju but I am hesitant to think he can produce as well as he has without AB getting double teamed on the other side.

People mentioning James Washington as an option crack me up. Dude can’t beat out a 5’9” white guy

Of course JuJu won't be as good without AB. That's why they will look to bring in another wr. If you think they're gonna roll with JuJu, Washington, Switzer, Rogers and Hey-Bey next year.....um, don't.

They should test the market and see what Golden Tate wants and potentially Fitz. I'm always intrigued by guys like Moncrief, Benjamin, Floyd to see if you can somehow get to them and squeeze the talent out of them.

They'll probably use a 2 on a WR again. I think either Harry or Harmon will drop.

Can't wait fast enough for that POS. "OUT OF HERE" and the other The"Sodomizer" follow not long after !!!!
Yeah-I’m sure the Steelers will improve instantly the second they get rid of their two future first ballot HOFers. Those guys have been dragging them down for years.

Wait until you clowns get a taste of life with an average NFL QB.

The Steelers biggest problem is that everyone is still selling merchandise at the regular price, meaning, there isn't a problem until the Rooney's see it on the balance sheet. The Steelers never make real changes until they feel it in the pocketbook.

They maybe selling it a regular price but outside of Conner and JJSS jerseys not many are buying it.

There’s a whole lot of stupid in this thread.

JuJu has done alright without AB in the lineup. In three games, one with Landry Jones as the starter, he has 20 receptions for 255 yards and three touchdowns. While he may not put up monster numbers without AB on the other side, he doesn't need to. Six players had 30 receptions or more and Roethlisberger really had no issues spreading around the ball. The Steelers also need to commitment more to the run next year, which in its own way should help open the passing game.

Ben is going to be 37 and a half years old when the season starts. How much longer do they think he is going to play at a high level? How long are they going to extend his contract?

He’s past his prime and near the end of his career. But these posters who think the Steelers will be better without their best 2 players are idiots.

AB is very probably the best receiver in the NFL. Sure He’s a prima donna, that kind of goes with the territory. If the Steelers don’t want him, there are 30 teams that do. Poetic justice would be to see him go to New England and torture the Steelers for the next 10 years.

Ben in his long prime was certainly one of the best and most consistent starting QBs in the league. There are only 3-5 QBs worth a $hit in the whole league, and Ben has been one of those his whole career.

I would add that I think Tomlin is a top-shelf NFL coach as well. Outside of Belichik, he’s one of the 4-5 best hands down. But that’s not good enough for Steeler nation.

Steelers fans are spoiled. You want to see how most of the rest have it, feel free to become Lions, Browns, Jets, Broncos, Dolphins, Bills, Raiders etc fans for a while.

Other than New England, no NFL franchise has sustained its success like the Steelers.

I live in Detroit. Reading the gripes of Steeler fans on this board reminds me of the spoiled Tigers fans of the past 10 years or so. These idiots were convinced that Jim Leyland amd Dave Dombrowski were the only things holding the Tigers from multiple WS championships. I used to tell these numskulls to be careful what they wish for, those are two of the very best in the baseball business at what they do.

Well, Leyland retired and Brad Ausmus drove the Tigers bus, favored to go back to the WS, over a cliff in his first season despite one of the highest payrolls and best personnel situations in baseball. Then they fired Dombrowski and all he’s done is return the Red Sox to World Series champs in 2 short years.

We have to get rid of AB, it’s not the Steelers doing this, it’s him. They have to get rid of him.

The sooner the better. It's only going to get more ugly before it gets better.

Guys like Conner , Watt and JuJu are going to be the next round of media whores....you just hope that none of them get greedy and selfish like Bell and Brown.

Yeah, AB is a mental case. Losing him will be a hit but you get the most you can for him, trade him to a team that sucks and take the hit on offense and hope your return will fill a void on defense or in the draft.

Dude wants no parts of being a Steeler, it sucks but your hands are tied.

I would trade AB if we get a big return. For example, 2 first round draft picks or a 1st round pick and a veteran who can come in and start. I would not trade him for a 2nd and 3rd round pick or something similar.

What does Rooney resolve from admitting a locker room problem to the public. If it’s expected that team members keep problem in house, then it starts at the top. The way the average fan myself included, jumps to conclusions then, there is nothing to gain by admitting anything then perpetuating the issue.

What he has shown is that the “steeler way” is a myth. Never again should a Steeler fan claim that the Steelers are different.

He said it all in an interview on Friday. We all know that things have been a mess. The interviewer (Joe Starkey) listed about half of the major issues known to the public over the past few years. And let’s remember, a majority of the issues are kept in house and we do not even hear about them. When asked what he would say to steeler fans about these issues, Rooney said that most steeler fans only care about wins. So there you have it, from Rooney’s mouth to our ears, the embarrassment of the steeler locker room does not matter to him.

Outside of fans who say the "Steeler way" is a myth, who even talks about that anymore?

No one. It was always a myth. It was a myth during the Noll and Cowher eras. And the Tomlin era has made it impossible to believe so.

I would take the 49ers 2 and 3 THIS YEAR in a heartbeat for AB. You obviously wait and see what else you can get. I would not trade him for picks NEXT YEAR.

You can probably turn those 2 picks into Devin Bush and Riley Ridley.

Ridley will probably go in the 1st Round.

No way. There will probably be 3 wr's going in the first round. Metcalf and Brown from ole miss and then you see guys like Harmon, Harry, Hollywood Brown, Butler all going end of 1 or in the 2nd. I have yet to see anyone rank Ridley in the top 60.
