OT: Any idea what tipped them off?

There was a youth football game at halftime of the Steelers-Titans game and this one team had a kid similar in size and he lined up against a kid that had to be 70 pounds. Coaches took him out after the play realizing the smaller opposition was in.

West Mifflin’s superintendent is currently under fire for hiring a security guard who committed murder. Must be a swell area.

Eons ago played for a 14 - 15 yr limit local Bantam team.. Players from other teams would drive up in their cars. Some others had beards. Arguments ensued and compromises were arranged. Tain't nothing new.

Kennywood pretty much sucks this year, with the closing of many rides and drastically shortened hours and elimination of days they are open now. It's lost its character. And it's not a safe place to be in West Mifflin. It's a shame it's turned out this way. It used to be a great place to spend a summer day.

I took my son a couple times this year.
We had a nice time.

Doesn’t seem any worse, and has more rides than when I last went nearly 20 years ago.
Not sure what the issues are.

Nothing says fun more than paying seven bucks for an order of French fries..

I think going towards the end of the summer, there have been 12 rides closed and Kiddieland is in half operation with many rides closed. Some rides only operate part-time. Staffing is a big problem. And making way for new rides while draining the pond and making way for new construction.

We always go every year. But this year, we didn't go because of the issues they're having with closing rides, long lines to get on rides and get food, and staffing. It's not the same as it was even 3 years ago.

I spent 9 bucks on a coors light at pitt game. 7 bucks for potato patch fries actually seems like a good deal.

You guys do realize KennyWood is for kids. I took my kids early in June and we had fun. Well they did, which is what matters. It was same as always for me, I didn’t notice any difference.

No log jammer kind of stinks for the kids but they didn’t care too much. Actually the Garfield ride sucks. I mean how is a jr high kid gonna get any stink finger on a Garfield ride, it kills the mood.

Long long time ago, not only did youth football have age limits, but it also had weight limits. When did that change?

I wasn’t allowed to play in my age group for youth football. Really sucked being the “big kid”.

Where I live, they have a rule where a kid that big would have to wear an “X” on their helmet. Can’t carry the ball. It’s an improvement but any kid that big is “too big” to play against smaller children.

Our starting center in Midget League Football was ruled ineligible for the Championship Game because he was TWO OUNCES over the league weight limit at the pre-game weigh in. The opposing coach wasn't very tolerant and insisted that our center and best lineman could not play.

That really pissed us off. We won the Championship without him in a rout.

The problem that they have is that all the college kids quit working by mid-August because they need to get back to campus and with so many high schools starting so much earlier than they used to they are now losing all their high school kids as well. What are they supposed to do when half (or more) of their workforce walks out the door midway through August?

More like early August when you consider band camp, football camp, cheerleading camp, cross country camp, volleyball camp, soccer camp and golf camp
