I drives me crazy to watch NFL DCs play zone and not rush Brady. Dude will pick you apart The DC for the Bolts is making the same stupid mistake. Its pretty well known you have to take your chances against Brady and rush more than four to pressure him and play man. If you get in Bradys face and hit him he becomes human.

I've said it frequently, underestimate the Patriots in the playoffs at your own risk. They played down to their opponent the past month because the division was assured. Made people wishfully think they were done. Obviously not.

You are correct though, it's befuddling that teams don't send kamikaze blitzes at Brady and obliterate him whether it's late or not. Take the penalty, ejection, clear the sidelines with a helmet swinging brawl if it comes to that ... but your season is ending, so what the hell. Go down fighting.

Teams that have had success against Brady have gotten in his face. Unless you can do that with just your front four you have to send at least five and mix up the blitz. You also cant just sit back in a zone. You have to make him beat you with accurate passes against man coverage. The Bolts DC did what the Steelers did for many years and are getting picked apart.

Having said that the Bolts are completely flat. That fumble was a killer

That holding call on King against Gronk was complete bullshit. The Pats mug receivers on every down and rarely get called. One of the reason why the steelers won this year was they finally called the pats DBs for holding on just about every play

I think they watched tapes of the past month, saw the patriots lure playoff opponents in to false sense of confidence with lackluster efforts vs normally inferior teams (like the Steelers!). The Chargers figured like many (such as many on this board) that the Pats were finished, and arrogantly or lazily didn't design an aggressive plan. And their game and season is over as a result.

But seriously don't think it matters, nor even who the Patriots are playing. This was gonna happen.

What NE is doing on both sides of the ball is as dominating as I have ever seen. This is unbelievable. How do they do this year in and year out? It baffles me that they can game plan this well with an extra week...and be this much better at home than they are on the road.

When you have to go to NE, you end up beating yourself. You feel you have to play perfect to win, do things outside of your control etc. You play tight, end up grabbing handfulls of jerseys instead of just a soft push etc.

Next week should be different as NE will finally be on the road in the playoffs. When is the last time they haven't had a playoff home game?

What amazes me is how they evaluate talent in the draft. Theyve been drafting last for years and still have better defenses than the Steelers (even with multiple coordinators). Their OL is every bit as good or perhaps better than the Steelers as well.

They seem to find guys who have a high will to win. Take Edlelman. Dude was a QB at Kent state.........hes one tough SOB. You also dont see the nonsense that goes on with the Steelers stars..
