well, that pretty much assures Joe knew
Its amazing there were actual Pitt fans who wanted this guy.
You know those wack jobs at Penn st will still try and spin this. Pathetic
Pitt dodged the bullet with Bradley. Dude is a complete POS. What a cesspool at Pedo U led by JokePa and Creepy Spanier. Theres a special place in hell for people like that. Its clear why MM didn't go directly to the police because he knew hed be thrown under the bus much like is happening now
Ron Cook come on down.Funny how his buddies in the media never bring up Bradley's indiscretions. Dude is a creeper.

Who do we owe thanks to?Trust me, Bradley to PITT was almost a done deal. The behind the scenes work to override it took major work. Thank goodness....
Some people who had common sense and knew TB was toxic. This comes from a reliable source.Who do we owe thanks to?
Yep......I think Pitt knew things about this and didn't mention it in public and avoided a nightmare. They didn't cave into some of the pressure being applied to hire him. Kudos to Pitt.

"The school maintains it did not retaliate against McQueary and that he was damaged in the public's eye by questions about why he didn't physically intervene to help the boy or call police."
Hold up. Its ok for the public to damage McQueary because he didn't call police. He told his boss and his boss DID NOT REPORT IT TO POLICE EITHER and his legacy is honored this year. Wow, that's a crazy place.
I feel really bad for McQueary. Besides Sandusky, his life has been altered the most and all he did was witness something and follow the law.
He should have also called police, not his employer
I agree but both he and Paterno technically followed the law at the time. So how can you honor 1 and vilify the other?
Spot on DOC...I can definitely confirm the veracity of that statement.
I was told by an impeccable source that he was our new coach and I was devastated. Once again, it was that goof A.D. and some of his highrolling booster buddies that nearly pulled that off.
Imbeciles.
I had a solid 45 minute debate with my friend on the inside and I told him I was done supporting Pitt football because I thought it was the worst hire we could have possibly made in that spot and that it was completely indefensible on multiple levels.
He could not believe how strong my reaction was and I told him a lot of people were going to react that way - which apparently surprised him.
Now, you tell me, how in the hell could that possibly be a surprise to anyone?
So I then start telling some of my closest confidants that Pitt had hired Tom Bradley and that I was therefore done supporting the program.
I was not remotely kidding. There are not many things that could make me walk away from Pitt football but that was one of them.
Almost to a person, everyone with whom I spoke echoed my sentiments. That would've been an insanely unpopular hire and I believe it would've triggered an all out civil war among the Pitt fan base.
And remember, this was on the heels of a series of equally stupid coach search blunders. Pitt could not afford another one - but they came within a whisker of making the least popular decision of them all.
Then, the next day came and went and there was no announcement. Then a few more days past and there was no announcement. My source went dark. I'm not sure if even he knew what was going on?
Of course my friends started calling me asking me what the hell was going on? I've never been so happy to be so wrong.
Somewhere along the line, somebody with common sense finally stepped in and said, "Oh, hell no!"
Thank God for him or her or them! I would happily buy them a beer if I were to ever speak with them about this issue.
Pitt then ended up essentially freezing Pederson out of the coach hiring process by creating an ad hoc committee, which chose Paul Chryst.
Now, I know that some of you don't like Paul Chryst for various reasons - some reasonable and some completely frivolous. However, if you do hate the guy, don't blame Pederson because he did not want to hire him either. Nope, he wanted Tom Bradley.
Still, from my perspective, little committee which was made up of all kinds of different people, made a better hire in that spot than Steve Pederson had made a few weeks earlier and really since his hiring of Walt Harris many years prior.
I agree but both he and Paterno technically followed the law at the time. So how can you honor 1 and vilify the other?
I am with you on that..... Makes no sense at all

Local media meaning Ron Cook. He took to fellating Bradley when JoePa was no longer available.I remember the local media saying that it was a no brainer to hire TB. Pitt dodged a severe missile. What a mess that would of been......
.Did I miss something here?Did Bradley say he told Joe about Jerry in 2004 after talking to MM?
And besides, it led to his being promoted from a "lowly" graduate assistant to a full-time member of Paterno's staff, a real plum job in those days -- especially for a kid from State College, PA.uh, when Joepa was the law, it makes perfect sense...
Ron Cook: 'I refuse to believe'
So where is th evidence of that?Which is not the same as messing with kids, but it's still against policy esp banging students, and yes Walt was
Funny how his buddies in the media never bring up Bradley's indiscretions. Dude is a creeper.
If you are going to talk about Bradley's testimony shouldn't someone mention Dr. Dravno's testimony. (Asked if he thought it was “bad enough” to call police or child welfare agencies that night, Dranov said no.)
