It's a joke of course. But as I have said, to no small extent, Pitt's mediocre sports is a reason that the city, county, state screw the university in this and all other ways. If Pitt sports (football especially) were successful and popular as the Pens or Steelers are (and you don't need to win EVERY year, just in the hunt regularly like them)... the local govs would be forced (due to the resulting popularity) to deliver real solutions that would favor the entire university (and in this case the REAL solution... subway... would also benefit the hospitals, other universities, their students and employees, and residents of the east). Not these half ass absurdities.
