OT: Burfict cut by Bengals.

Raiders seem like a good fit for him. Oh wait...

The Oakland Raiders have signed Vontaze Burfict to a one-year contract, a day after the veteran linebacker was released by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The deal is worth up to $5 million, according to NFL Network.

With the Raiders, the 28-year-old Burfict will reunite with defensive coordinator Paul Guenther, who held the same role with the Bengals from 2014 to 2017.

Burfict also will be a new teammate of wideout Antonio Brown, and the two have a history.

The only surprise of all this is that Burfict is only 28. Seems like he's been been around nearly as long as Suggs or other such hoodlum geezers.

For some reason I watched a lot of Arizona State season that was Burfict's final. I can't remember which season it was, and if it was Dennis Erickson's final. I remember though that I thought this guy, Burfict, was an incredible talent, but one of the most out of control people I had ever seen play the game. Million-dollar ability, ten cent head.

He's been concussed a few times and was (by Cincy sports media) out of shape last year.
You have to be a health fanatic to play that sport and Burf doesn't seem to have it.
With their moves Oakland is better for sure, but it proves that their coach is only a true genius if he gets better players.

They were already going to have to walk on eggshells around AB hoping not to do ot say the wrong thing to have him snap. Then they go sign the guy who he openly hates and tried to kill him. What a terrible move by Mayok/Gruden. The self destruct by this team this tear is going to be a great thing to watch.

Wonder if Mr. Big Chest will be going over to Burfict's house for dinner?
I honestly think Burfict's hit helped Mr. Big Chest lose his mind, not that he needed much help.

Talk about strange bedfellows! LOL
Two new loons in the clubhouse should make a great reality TV show and a lot of great social media moments.

I wonder if Vegas is giving odds on a practice injury between those two?

The game Burfict supposedly laid out AB ... they've been showing the clips a lot lately ... did anyone else think he didn't exactly make a ton of direct contact to AB? Im not doubting he intended to. I just wonder if there was a little enhancement by AB. I do recall he had to lv the game.

My point is that maybe the feelings aren't as hard as some think. Hell we have read references that this guy used to whack his own players dirty in practice but they didn't seem to turn on him there. This is painful brutal work for sure but there is an element of WWE melodrama too...
