BYU was previously scheduled to play Liberty this weekend but the game fell through due to COVID. I like this; bolsters BYU’s NY6 chances and Jamey Chadwell (whom I think is a great coach) and his Chanticleers get an opportunity to showcase their offense to a national audience.

Coastal Carolina is scheduled to play Liberty. Liberty is supposed to make a decision tomorrow morning as to whether they can play or not. If they cannot play, then BYU will take their place. It would be BYU at CC if Liberty cancels due to Covid. Gameday is scheduled to be at CC for the game.

Correct, I got them mixed up. Thanks for the clarification.

BYU is going to absolutely maul them, I think.
I’d have to lean towards BYU as well. I’ve been a Coastal Carolina fan this year in part because I’ve been interested in watching Chadwell’s team play, so I’m torn on who to root for.

If I eventually want him to come coach at Pitt, perhaps it’s better if BYU wins. A win might attract bigger suitors. :)

I think the G5 has been more interesting than the P5 this year, at least at the top. I get so sick of seeing the same teams year after year.

This is a great matchup. Kudos to both teams for making this happen! Now if only some of the other conferences would show flexibility. If Ohio State and Michigan doesn't happen next week, I think BYU should play them! Another alternative would be in-state Cincinnati (Why in the world are they playing Tulsa twice!) although the Little 10 would never go for playing OOC and risking an embarassing loss.

Schools face some adversity and need to get a game in and they make it happen within a few days. Meanwhile, between football and basketball Pitt doesn't play Penn State, West Virginia, and Duquesne every year. I don't want to hear another AD ever complain about scheduling again.

Looking forward to this BYU-Coastal Carolina game.

Cincy won’t play them.
Cincinnati is afraid they will lose that wonderful trophy.

I played Coastal Carolina +10.5 right away and feel pretty good about it. BYU has the better athletes, and has far and away the best player on the field in Wilson. However Coastal Carolina has a big edge in coaching, and the quick scheduling factor should benefit them as well. I think they keep it close.

I took BYU -10.5. Not confident enough to bet much on it though.

Also took Clemson at -22.5 vs VT.

We are in agreement on the Clemson game, made the same wager at the identical number. Think they are on a mission now and are going to win games by margin.

I am looking forward to this impromptu matchup, should be fun. Cowherd is using recruiting rankings to downgrade BYU, I have mixed frelings on that. The results on the field grab my attention more than recruiting rankings.

Watching those Rajun Cajuns at App St, I was hoping to see a mudfest, but they appear to have turf, looks like a really nice field.

App State’s stadium is one of the best kept secrets in college football, in my opinion. It’s tucked away in the mountains and has had a lot of work done to it since their move up to the FBS.

Here’s what the finished product will look like. Also, their baseball stadium may be even nicer.

Wow, they are really tucked away in the hills. When I think of North Carolina, I’ve mostly been close to the coast, I-95 area. Western NC looks pretty much like Tennessee to me.

I’ve said this before but Coastal Carolina’s offense is so much fun to watch; unlike anything I’ve seen before. It’s essentially a triple option out of the spread with a QB that can sling it.

BYU is favored but I’m not surprised the Chanticleers are moving the ball early, I’d imagine it’s hard to prepare for it on two days notice.

Once you get past the top 5-6 teams, none of them are anything special, including those from the P5. That said, this is easily the most watchable game of the day.

Will also say if you like a lot of offense, multiple back and forth swings, and some really odd plays Arkansas/Missouri was a hell of a watch as well.

So I have this game on the television with no sound and the basketball game on the computer. CC scores to make it 22-17 and they obviously need to go for two. So how does the coach not have a two point play ready so that they have to waste a timeout to get a play in? That's awful coaching right there.

Same, my feed is terrible.
