Clemson rejoins CFP field with a ranked S. Carolina rivalry game remaining to secure their spot.

SMU moves up to 9 and Miami sits at 6, meaning a close ACC Championship Game win my SMU makes it likely 3 ACC teams make the field.

At the other end of the P4 spectrum is the B12, with zero teams in the field and a real possibility of their champion ultimately being lower ranked than Boise St. (Mountain West Conference) and Tulane (AAC). The B12 Champ would be the 6th highest ranked conference champion in that scenario and not get an automatic bid.

Boise St. and Indiana (#10) need to keep winning or they’ll drop out.

Very few people had these scenarios on their scorecards.
