Been waiting my whole life for a big budget and bold attempt to put this literature onto film…and I’m excited about this. Release date is July 2026.

Would have loved to see Sean Bean (Ned Stark, Baromir) who played Odysseus in Brad Pitt’s Troy, but he’s not cast in this one. Maybe Matt Damon is the lead?

Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o and Charlize Theron have all been cast but I do not think any announcements have been made on roles.

It’s been said for decades that a film adaptation would be too difficult to tackle. Is Nolan the guy? I think so, although Peter Jackson would have been a slam dunk.

Anyone else interested?

Nolan is most certainly the guy. Name a bad Nolan movie? You can't. Some directors don't miss. Tarantino is one. Nolan is one as well. Very much looking forward to this.

Overly complicated nonsense , made interstellar seem straight forward.
But , The Prestige I can watch dozens of times .

I mean , O’ Brother was an odyssey parable .

I didnt think tenet was bad...just needed cliff notes for it. O brother.. I forgot about that and you are correct in the analogy.

Not understanding your point here. A movie set in 1930’s Mississippi and loosely based on the Odyssey, while interesting, isn’t exactly boldly trying to tackle Homer’s epic as written.

I had a brain cramp when I made the OP. For some reason I was thinking some of Zach Snyder’s works were Nolans.

Well - the story line was the odyssey

I like all that Greek mythology stuff , it’s also why I enjoy the Percy Jackson series (the movies stinks).

I’ll definitely watch this one

Nolan movies usually have characters who are not well deveolped and work as little puzzles with very obvious symbolism, filmed with great visual skill. Honestly, perfect for Greek mythology. I'll watch.
