As I witnessed last night's Steelers debacle at Foxboro, I posted on my Facebook page that I couldn’t wait until the press conference to hear what “coach cliché” would say. Predictably, the “we own this”, “it’s our responsibility”, “this won’t define us”, clichés came spewing out of his mouth. But I’m not sure I ever heard him say “we weren’t ready for prime time”.
One of my “hobbies” is being a wordsmith. I came up with this limerick to “memorialize” Tomlin’s newest cliché:
As a fan of the ‘Burgh’s Black and Gold,
Steelers’ team didn’t play; they got rolled.
“For prime time, we weren’t ready.”
Said the coach. ‘Nuff already!
Your excuses, are getting quite old.
