I recently cut out my cable and found some alternatives that fill the void surprisingly well. I started with sling which is a streaming service that offers some of the more popular cable channels live. All the ESPN channels and AMC were the selling points. A membership with sling also gives me access to watch ESPN which allows me to stream the ESPN3 games and watch them on replay. Great for watching the Pitt game the day after going. Sling is offered at 20 bucks a month. In addition to that I bought an HD antenna. I get cbs nbc fox and more in HD for absolutely nothing. Just put up the slim antenna pad in the window and was good to go. I now have Pitt and Steelers covered and more for less than 20 a month. I did give up multiple room boxes and the ability to DVR. Is that worth over $100 bucks a month? Not to me.

The model of antenna I got was the winegard fl5500a. I live around 20-30 miles from the signals.
