OT: Dravon Henry Steelers UFA

They signed a DB from Texas too. Seems like they’re looking for guys who have experience against prolific passing attacks.

There was an Aliquippa fan on here a few years ago saying what a coup it was for WVU to get Henry and how he would be an automatic early entrant and probable #1 draft pick. He was ridiculously sure of it.

Now here we are and he is a UFA that had trouble keeping a starting job at WVU.

To be fair he was much better before his injury that it appears he never recovered from.

It was a sore loss at the time, but given his proclivity to The Herb, and Pitt's typical overreaction to players who have such, he wouldn't have lasted long with us. So likely worked out for the best, for him for sure. Likely would have been more drama and anguish for Pitt than he was worth. Whitehead case in point, a far better player, yet there was always weed turmoil with him.

Other than possible negativity to Pitt in his high school region but we seem to be getting some of that reversed now.

There were fans on this board who thought we should pack it in and shut down the program when we didn't get him. In all honesty I was surprised when I saw he was done at WVU. Hadn't heard a lot about him.

Speaking of former WVU DBs, it sounds like Karl Joseph is out of favor with the new staff in Oakland. I wonder if the Steelers could offer Burns for him in a swap of former 1st-rounders, to give each a fresh start.

Either way the chances of Burns making the 53 man roster against New England are less than 50/50.

He played surprisingly well as a freshman and sophomore correct? I did not know he got injured.

This is why Pitt needs to recruit Florida 10x harder than PA. The WPIAL is O'K, at best.
