I’m sure it was never “cool” to say you were an Eddie Money fan, but I loved his music. He definitely could churn out hit songs. Not sure how good his deeper stuff is, but I never turn off “Take Me Home Tonight,” “Two Tickets to Paradise” or his other hits. Catchy tunes.RIP Eddie.
IMO as a 39 year old he was one of the more underrated acts. Not sure how talked about he was during his prime as I was a little kid but as a person my age when talking about acts from that time he just never seems to be given his just dues.

I hope you didn't clean your K-tel record on a Ronco record vacuum.I don't know who's concept it was but the idea of having Ronnie Spector's "Be My Baby" part within Take Me Home Tonight was pretty innovative at that time, I think. Incredibly tame by today's standards but also likely a bit of a risk in 1985ish for a white mainstream rocker to mash a 60s tune by a black r&b singer with a guitar driven rock tune.
I also remember "Baby Hold On" as one of the songs on one of my first records (yes record)...a K-Tel compilation! So he shares a distinction for me with the likes of Taste Of Honey (Boogie Oogie Oogie) and Toto (Hold The Line). Solid tune.
No but I have suffered the irony and agony of having a cassette head cleaner get eaten up by my car stereo (more than once!).
I saw him at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Highlight was I wanta go,back.

He appeared to be leaving without singing Shakin. Crowd wouldn't let him.
He was well past his prime at that point, but it is kinda cool watching a performer who knows that, but is doing what he loves anyway.
Rocking till the end.
