Wow. Almost certainly was poisoned. Those guys can do anything they want and get away with it. Unbelievable.
He's been sick for the last couple of weeks.
"My body finally broke down on me. Three weeks of little sleep, high stress and lots of work can do that to you,'' Wahl wrote. "What had been a cold over the last 10 days turned into something more severe on the night of the USA-Netherlands game, and I could feel my upper chest take on a new level of pressure and discomfort. I didn't have Covid (I test regularly here), but I went into the medical clinic at the main media center today, and they said I probably have bronchitis. They gave me a course of antibiotics and some heavy-duty cough syrup, and I'm already feeling a bit better just a few hours later. But still: No bueno.''

Not that it matters but was his wearing of the the gay pride shirt as a statement against Qatar to protest or is he gay? I saw he had a wife. Don’t know what his history is with speaking out against Qatar. And from the articles I read he was detained for wearing the shirt and had his phone taken from him. Was he stirring things up for awhile and he became a target, or was this an isolated incident?
It's funny.........we talk about Xenophobia and Islamphobia after 9/11 and events after, and as soon as this happened, most of Twitter immediately went on the attack that this was murder. I have to admit, I too thought the same.
But our hypocrisy knows only one bound. Politics.
For me, I'm not saying that there is no chance that something nefarious happened. But what I am saying is that when a guy who has been sick for a couple weeks, bad enough that he went to the hospital twice for treatment and apparently spent the day on Thursday in his hotel room all day because he wasn't feeling well, ends up passing away there are a lot more things that could be going on here than "he must have been poisoned!"
This wasn't a guy who was in perfect health and feeling perfectly normal who suddenly dropped over dead. It's a guy who has been ill and feeling increasingly worse for literally weeks. Let's wait until we have some facts before we go off the deep end.

Grant wahl never missed an opportunity to virtue signal throughout his career. It was his schtick. I’m not speaking ill of the dead, I’m just stating that his activism crept into his work and the rainbow shirt wasn’t anything new with him.
I said this on the free board…two things come to mind immediately when a young healthy man loses his life in an oppressive country.
1) covid vaccine
2) foul play
That’s just the way it is in 2022. But that said, any time a young healthy person dies, an autopsy is going to be performed…even if this happened in 2018 and in Nebraska. So let’s wait before we say “almost certainly poisoned”. But SMF will SMF.
Listening to 2 close friends of Grant Wall’s on the radio today, and they played a clip from Wahl on his podcast talking about his illness a day before his death. There is a virus going around over there and it’s not covid. Lots of colds and respiratory symptoms everywhere you go. They also talked about how healthy and fit the guy was. He worked out daily, was a rower and the healthiest guy you’d ever meet. Why would a virus that everyone seemed to be passing around over there kill a young extremely healthy person?
Could be the Indian thing in reverse. Had little immunity. To be clear - I am not taking any position on this. Bad luck, foreign big, poison are all plausible to me.
Well the immunity thing is an interesting point. Our immune systems aren’t what they were. This isn’t a political point either but rather a natural byproduct of lifestyle changes due to the pandemic.
His heart gave out…by all indications a strong heart. Another journalist died today over there. I don’t know any details yet, other than the journalist had a middle eastern name. Something to keep an eye on.
His body is back in the US as of this morning, so I would imagine that an autopsy either has been done or will be done soon.

Read again. My point was…stay with me here…in 2022 that’s where peoples minds go…because, you know, tribalism.
I am guessing Grant Wahl had Covid 19 at some point in the last 2 years and if so, I would wonder if his aneurysm was some long-term effect. No way to really ever know but isnt there a rise in young people dying from heart problems?
Nothing I’ve seen peer reviewed on aneurysms and covid. Maybe a white paper or something. I wouldn’t know. It’s not my industry. Not sure why it would though.
That said, now that I think about it…my grandfather served in Korea and had a virus, might have been Asian flu, and he had a heart valve issue the was managed for the rest of his life with no problems. His docs had the flu as the cause of his heart issue. So yeah, to your point, maybe??
Any virus can mess with your heart. Heck, even having poor dental hygiene can cause heart problems.
NO there is not! Some cases of myocarditis after vaccine(rare), but spontaneously resolves. Incidence of death after vaccine no higher than in healthy people with no vaccine.

Thom you sound like you might know a thing or two…obviously they are two different things, but there’s no relation between Myocarditis and aneurysm is there?
