Loved it. Very funny and very touching. Introduced some new characters. I don't think you can compare the first and the second IMHO, because they are somewhat different. Looking forward to anyone else's opinion.

(Obviously great soundtrack. We've been listening to it for a couple of weeks on Spotify.)

Joe Fria has an acting credit in that Movie. He's a graduate of Fox Chapel and CMU. Just a fun fact for the lair faithful.

has to be good....UPJ87's third law of filmdom...which reads, no film with Kurt Russell in it can ever suck

Great movie...lots of belly laughs...Drax the big bald guy stole the show with his one liners. The use of the Cat Stevens song was touching.

It's because comic books have great stories in them. They are a genre that has surpassed legit literature because of the short attention span of today and they are more creative than the boring cookie-cutter sitcoms of the networks.

Yes. Plot is 90% written and they are guaranteed money makers. Bores the hell out of me but obviously there is a big market.
Yes they are $$$ makers. Is this the movie with that hot black girl who's green in the movie? Good-looking women isn't enough to get me to the movies these days.

think he has a point...Lots more than comic book heroes, true, but never been more movies about them and it is monotonous...

I could leave most of those comic book movies but Guardians of the Galaxy is special, more akin to Star Wars than the other Marvel movies, IMO (haven't seen the second yet). I wish they would leave this one alone and not bring it into the bigger storyline (which they are). I am somewhat looking forward to Thor Ragnarok though, given that it includes Blanchett and Goldblum.

As long as they are well done, I have no issue with the Marvel movies including Deadpool and the XMen franchise. We have enjoyed them all. DC? Yeah, not so much.

Did you stay until the post credit scenes? Teenager Groot got me to laugh out loud. So typical of teens.

Is this all Hollywood got anymore?? Comic book heroes? That's it. That's the list of ideas.

these multiplexes all have like 15 screens. Back in the day the Showcase was considered big with 4 screens. Something has to fill all these screens right? That's why we see Planet of the Apes reinvented for the third time, Spider Man & Batman with a million reincarnations, and a never ending stream of Avenger movies.

I guess it's better than the trend a while back of remaking every awful TV show from the 70's....Beverly Hillbillies, Addams family, etc. Some really bad crap, but like I said with all that volume to fill Hollywood will often sacrifice quality for the sake of keeping the seats filled.

second better than first. Liked the cameos, good plot twist. Bautista not a bad actor, may try and give Rock a run for his money.

Baywatch is being remade for the Big Screen.

I actually liked 21 jumpstreet, second one wasn't bad. some of these remakes aren't bad, I suspect the same kind of humor in the Baywatch one..

finally watched the original guardian of galaxy last night.. not seeing it fellas, my kids were amused, talking raccoon and the chick in green was hot but damn, is this something that adults really like? Like with a plot and everything? I saw nothing that would amuse someone over the age of 16 here..

I had one of those hotel sleepless nights the other night and finally watched Suicide Squad. Again, I mean Margot Robbie could have kept my attention for hours and the Enchantress wasn't too shabby either, but really? How come I don't remember these comics as an actual comic? What kind of geeks really read this stuff? Just........I dunno, it is no big deal but my god, they all tend to end up the same don't they?

only one I really liked was iron man and deadpool. one or two of the batmans were ok, I thought the supermans sucked and avengers is too much for me, probably geared for people that love comic books and not so much a normal human being.. FYI, the girl in Deadpool might be the best looking girl I've ever seen in my life..

Anybody here remember Blade being a comic book? Me neither, but they were pretty badass with Snipes
damn, I just got done with a post saying the ones I liked and forgot blade. I liked the first one with Steven dorf and who could dislike anything with Kris Kristofferson. He's such a great actor, he made Big Top PeeWee watchable..

Yeah, I caught Suicide Squad the other day and I thought it was awful. It didn't even seem to have a plot. It seemed as if it was set up, entirely, to be a series and not a movie, which could have a follow on.

Definitely enjoyed it! Drax repeatedly calling the cute little antenna babe "hideous" (and her believing it) made me laugh over and over again.

I know absolutely nothing about Guardians of the Galaxy outside of the two movies, so maybe someone who knows more can help me here... What was Ego's motivation for putting a tumor inside Peter's mother's brain? I realize that he's got this "mission" where he is taking over the Universe and remaking it in his own image ... so he's banging babes all over the universe, including Peter's mom.

Ego could come and go from earth (and many other worlds) as he pleased, so why did he need to kill Peter's mother? Is the idea that he's just evil and couldn't help himself, or was she more of a threat to his plan than I understand at this point?

my take is that she was the one Ego truly loved and was afraid that if she was still around he would be tempted to abandon his mission and stay on earth full time.

Suicide Squad was very disappointing. Marvel has it ALL over DC in regards to their films. Curious how Wonder Woman will be.

an yet no Archie comic movies...shame. They say men can divided into Betty men and Veronica men. I disagree in that I have always been a Miss Grundy man as she had it going on...

Lol Archie, that brings back memories of a kid I knew growing up that had 4 stacks of Archie comics about 2 feet high, in his closet. I never saw the appeal to Archie.

Just fyi - there is a show on right now that is based on the Archie comics.

Moose Mason is a 4 star defensive end from Riverdale high that has yet to commit...Narduzzi ought to get on that but damn Pitt with their antiquated academic standards will probably put the kibosh on it as the young man does not appear to be that bright.. Looks like he will be bringing the pain against Pitt at North Carolina. ..

Agreed it was completely different than the first GOTG movie, but it certainly wasn't worse for it. I thought it was well done. The whole tone of fatherhood throughout the film sets it apart from a lot of other MCU movies which are just about superheroing.
