Anyone using Sling for streaming? I pay quite a bit for Hulu and don't use it much but for Pitt football and basketball. I see Sling has ACC network, so would be an option. I also watch Air Crash Investigation and war documentary shows. I have Sky, NHL and NFL, and Netflix so really just need the Pitt sports content on ACC Network.
Hulu ruined Christmas two years ago. We watch Die Hard every year on Christmas Eve, and I streamed it through Hulu. They bleeped out the line after "Yippee Kay Yah" and my kids have never forgiven me. They keep bringing up the time Dad ruined Christmas.
Appreciate anyone's thoughts on Sling. Living overseas my options are limited. It is becoming increasingly difficult to convince these services that I still live in the US via VPN, cash passport debit card, and a UPS store postal address.

Yeah, I know. Dumb decision. Not sure what I was thinking!

I use Strong VPN. It has a protocol that rotates the IP address, so it does work very well with Netflix (I hear they are really strict on the VPNs). I haven't really had trouble with the VPN with Hulu. Sometimes the browser remembers prior locations and it won't load, but clearing cookies solves that.

The problem I had signing up initially was getting Hulu to accept one of my cards. They require a US based credit card with a US billing address. I tried a few until finally getting lucky with a Cash Passport card I got using my US UPS post box address.

My concern if I dump Hulu is that I can't trick someone else that I don't live overseas. I think this is dumb. Why don't they want more money for their services?

Sky TV carries ESPN and they give access to ESPN 3 or whatever they call it. Sometimes they have games to stream from ACC Network, but it is inconsistent. And they list them on the schedule, but on gameday sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. They make it hard work to watch a game. So yeah, at 6-6 you start to wonder why you go through all of the trouble (plus a noon start is 4 AM Sunday morning for a portion of the season).

Do you need vpn for this site?

Not sure if it is available where you live but I found You Tube TV was better overall for the PITT sports fan.

I use Sling to fill the gaps during football and college bball season. The problem with Sling is that they chop up the packages in a way that requires you to buy both (at least it did for me). Still, no complaints from me, it was an effective way to get ESPN and ACCN when I needed it.

What does YouTube TV give you that Hulu doesn’t? Just wondering.
Hulu gives me the ACCN, all of the ESPN stations plus bonus stations during football and basketball season, Disney Plus, which gives me ESPN Plus and NBC Universal. I don’t think I’ve missed a Pitt basketball or football game since I dropped Fios.

I can order US regioned pay per view content from YouTube so probably would work. Do you get the ABC and other network coverage? When the games are on free broadcast TV is where I have difficulty.
These games rights are held by different broadcasters in different countries. Here SkyTV owns most of the rights. They just don't show them. And with Sky I get the Australian ESPN online access, but the games available seem random.
If YouTube does one of those free trials, maybe I give them a try this season.
Thanks.
