The Steelers are heading into Week 17 with a 12-3 record and the AFC North title already secured. A few stats I discovered this morning:
- With a win, the Steelers will finish the regular season with a 13-3 record. This would be their highest regular season finish since 2004, Ben’s rookie season. Is it possible that his two highest regular season finishes will have come in his first and last seasons?
- The Steelers have already clinched a 4th-straight playoff spot. This is the highest playoff streak of the Mike Tomlin era and the longest streak since the 90’s under Cowher, when they made the playoffs from 1992-97.
- We will most likely head into the playoffs as the 2nd seed. Two important tidbits about this: 1) Three of the last four times we had the 2nd seed, we made it to the Super Bowl and 2) All four times we hosted the AFCCG, meaning the top seed lost. Will this happen again in 2017 with the Patriots?
Hopefully we can win with ease tomorrow while keeping everyone healthy going into the playoffs. Here we go Steelers, here we go!
