I think it was in November that Howard received a nice raise, of $6,000,000, in the contract update from his original deal. He's now over $3,200,000 per year and his results this year are bad. They are 8-7 in conference with some tough games remaining.
I think he should be suspended the rest of the season and into the conference tournament. But, that could just be used as an excuse for their bad record.
I also think if he hadn't gone after Maryland's coach last season he would be given more leeway. No matter what happens from here on out he will not be looked at the same way ever again.
Your posts live up to your username!I wouldn’t fire him, but he certainly should be done for the rest of the regular season and post season.
This is the downside of hiring notable alums. If/when it goes sour, you risk alienating prominent people if you make the wrong move.
I don’t know what was said. But Wiscy had the game won and cleared the bench. Michigan pressed and Gard called a TO which Howard took exception to. It escalated to that.
I don’t see how he could’ve been that angry about the timeout when Michigan was still pressing even after the game had been decided. Guy is a great recruiter, but the jury is still out on whether he can coach at this level.
Obviously has anger management issues as he pulled something similar with Mark Turgeon last year.
Gard touches his elbow in the handshake line. Then the out of control punk took a swing at another Coach. Fire him and ban him from college basketball. He is supposed to be setting an example for his players not causing what could have been a injury causing riot. If it's good enough for Woody Hayes it's good enough here too.
Did Gard throw a punch? NO . Making excuses for thuggish behavior is what produces Bobby Knight and Paterno. Fire him and ban him from coaching collegeGard grabs him and is the one who started the escalation. Like I said, both coaches are responsible for their actions and both should be getting a suspension for "not setting the example".
1. Gard puts his backups in and Howard keeps pressing down over 15. Howard doesn’t understand college hoops rules reset 10 second clock on timeout and is bitterGard grabs him and is the one who started the escalation. 2. Says he’ll remember that shit when he’s walking by like the punk he is while he’s pressing walk on down double digits and no time left
3. Gard tries to explain, Howard escalates it.
Your post has zero merit because this is the THIRD time he has done some clown shit trying to fight someone at Michigan. He’s not equipped to be a college head coach. He’s too emotional
Howard started the whole situation. A mature adult would have simply gone through the line and shaken Gard’s hand. He started running his mouth right away. You seem confused. Who is excusing anything?
Gard clearly starting the altercation has nothing to do with Howard's responsibility in it. They both should be suspended for the reasons you stated earlier.
Hey now. There’s a pay per view match up for the ages.I don’t know why we have to wonder what was said. Guys like Howard and Brad Marchant are grown men.
sticks and stones y’all. Grow up.
So if a man refuses to shake your hand, then your reaction is to grab him? That's asking for a confrontation.Howard started the whole situation. A mature adult would have simply gone through the line and shaken Gard’s hand. He started running his mouth right away.
Howard is a punk who is unfit to be a college head coach. He’s a poor example for the young men on his team. This isn’t the first time this sort of behavior has been exhibited by Howard and Michigan. This is a pattern. So if a man refuses to shake your hand, then your reaction is to grab him? That's asking for a confrontation.
If you're gonna say that Howard should've been mature, then the same should be said for Gard. Keep walking through the line and leave it alone.
Gard's mistake was trying to explain himself rationaly to a punk who just cursed him out.So if a man refuses to shake your hand, then your reaction is to grab him? That's asking for a confrontation.

Another Matt Doherty, but worse.1. Gard puts his backups in and Howard keeps pressing down over 15. Howard doesn’t understand college hoops rules reset 10 second clock on timeout and is bitter
2. Says he’ll remember that shit when he’s walking by like the punk he is while he’s pressing walk on down double digits and no time left

Yeah how dare he try to explain to this muppet that he didn’t want walkons being embarrassed and have to put his starters back in. Howard is a clown and another embarrassment to Michigan. All of that can be true while holding Gard responsible for his part. It's pretty plain and simple.

So you got no answer regarding Gard's actions...Howard is a punk who is unfit to be a college head coach. He’s a poor example for the young men on his team. This isn’t the first time this sort of behavior has been exhibited by Howard and Michigan. This is a pattern.
Lol. Howard started it and escalated it like the other two times. It’s a crime he still has a job. If he wasn’t Juwan Howard he’d be fired by the time they hit the locker room.If that's all he did, you would have a point. Once he grabbed him to make sure he was "heard" - he's now part of the problem.
So dumb on both parts.
So you got no answer regarding Gard's actions...
If Gard kept his hands to himself, it probably would've blown over.
And I'm not excusing Howard's behavior, he should've walked away and left it alone.
lol when you bring up race, you’ve lost the audience and your argument. Howard has a history, Gard doesn’t.It's funny to me that those who want Howard to be held responsible for his action don't think Gard should be held responsible for his.
Why could that be?
Coaches stop and talk all the time. And guess what - they actually touch each other all the time. When is the last time a college head coach threw a punch/open fist at someone going through the line?So you got no answer regarding Gard's actions...

Also, he doesn’t understand basic college basketball rules 3 years in? He’s inept.
Who said I’ll remember that shit like the little bitch he is? Open face slap of a grown men. Juwan should switch to the women’s side where emotional people are accepted.Who grabbed who first?
People rejoicing we don’t have fiery coach Danny Hurley but defend Juwan Howard for his 3rd attempted assault of another coach.
Why could that be? See how stupid that sounds?
Who said I’ll remember that shit like the little bitch he is? Open face slap of a grown men. Juwan should switch to the women’s side where emotional people are accepted.
You, by trying to attempt a coach grabbing someone’s arm as a reason to escalate stuff. That’s a defense. Coach’s do that ALL the time. Howard is a player, not a coach. He should be out of a jobMaybe try hooked on phonics. Who is defending Howard?

your arguments are I can’t read (read perfectly what you said) and everyone saying it’s Howard’s fault is racist. Tell me you’re not a lawyerReading is fundamental. Whatever you think you read, isn't what you read.
🤔 that's a silly logic...I guess anyone can get away with anything, if there is no history.Howard has a history, Gard doesn’t.
it’s not a silly logic at all. We know Howard’s intent when he escalated things because he has a history. Everyone is jumping to conclusions based on trying to grab his arm, as happens probably 10 times a night post game handshake lines between head coaches, to justify a 50 something year old man swinging on another man. It’s insane🤔 that's a silly logic...I guess anyone can get away with anything, if there is no history.
So, by your logic Howard's actions yesterday would be okay if he didn't had a prior altercation with another coach? Do you now realize how silly that sounds?
Not sure what point you're trying to make about the "women's side" but I'm assuming it's dumb.Who said I’ll remember that shit like the little bitch he is? Open face slap of a grown men. Juwan should switch to the women’s side where emotional people are accepted.
