OT: Kent State OC Andrew Sowder

With Sean Lewis departing to be the offensive coordinator at PrimeTime U and Kent State bringing in an outsider to replace him (Minnesota RB coach Kenni Burns), Andrew Sowder might be available. He’s a name that has been brought up multiple times in the past when a Pitt offensive coordinator position was available. We should try to find some position for him on the staff, perhaps as a QB coach to allow Cignetti to be full-time offensive coordinator.

Great idea, provided Cig isn’t the paranoid type that would see it as a threat. Not that this should be valid as a reason not to consider it. But if he would discourage it with Duz, whether admitting that’s why or not, could squash the idea quickly. Plus, obviously Jurkovec is coming here precisely to renew the situation he had with Cig in BC, and wouldn’t think there was a QB coach in between them there (though many here are more versed in it than I am).

Unless they got rid of an assistant coach, it would need to be as one of those special assistants who isn't technically an on-field assistant coach.
