OT: Matt Canada looking to leave LSU

Probably be a good HC. Bet he gets a gig somewhere... Potentially UCF if Frost leaves.

He interviewed for the ECU job and couldn't get that job. Now, he's trying for the Rice job. Not exactly big jobs. I don't think he even can get the Rice job.

What makes you think he can get the UCF job?

Ed, is actually trying to push Matt out the door.

I didn't realize he already tried at ECU. In that case, he might be stuck.

Boy Rice is a dead end job. I believe the Fraud may be the only guy who hired up from there.

Look at their list of head coaches over the years. Hell, even John Heisman lost there. And that was his last head coaching job......

If I were Canada I’d hold out for something, anything better than that. He always talked about how much he likes to be around water and the beach. One of those coastal Florida mid-majors would suit him nicely.

Agree. And realistically where will they go from Canada? He proved a lot at Pitt last year. I think if they get the right O line and QB they’d be an offensive force with Canada running the show. Now where will they go?

You mean he needs better players? I absolutely agree. A coach is a dumbass until he lands better players, then he becomes a genius overnight!

Coaching can only take you so far, players take you the rest of the way...

He got fired at NCSU because he was looking for other jobs.

I think there may be a pattern here.

I was always told as a kid that the one who always complains about everybody else is usually the problem.

i was told as a kid the person that tolerates shit tends to get shit

If he can’t get a head coaching gig. Bring him back here. He would do wonders with Pickett.
Unfortunately, I think the money along with high profile of being OC at a power like LSU is what drew him to his current gig. Not sure Pitt fits that. Not sure it's a good idea to bring a guy back that will likely leave again after one year. I'd only do it if he's cool being 1a to Watson's 1b. Then, if he bolts wuickly again, Watson assumes to sole role again.

Can't possibly see how 1a and 1b would work.

Wonder if PSU is a possible destination now with Moorehead gone. OC gig there is far better than HC at Rice.

LSU's last game of the year they had 600 yards of offense despite a quarterback with limited skills for this system. It seemed like it was all jut about to take off. Cajun O is making a mistake if it is a push out thing.
