OT - New Pirate Jung Ho Kang...

It just struck me as funny that in Rob Biertempfel's article in the Trib about new Pirate Jung Ho Kang, Rob had this sentence:

"Last Wednesday, Kang (pronounced "Gahng") finally arrived at Pirate City in Florida"

I don't know about you, but does "Gahng" help with the pronunciation??? I think I need a "rhymes with"...

I agree with you completely. I've seen them use that pronunciation hint for him previously and thought - now that does absolutely nothing for telling me how to pronounce his name.

maybe its just me but it let me clearly understand how to pronounce it.
and it does not sound the same as 'gong'.
