For those of you who are fans of the Pittsburgh Dad series, or grew up in Pittsburgh in the late 80's, check out the new video they released if you haven't yet. Probably their best one yet, and this time it includes real actors for the rest of the family. Brings back a lot of memories.

Sounds like their next step is to roll out a feature film/movie and have someone like Netflix pick it up. Should be interesting to see what's ahead.

excellent!

it's 13 minutes of yelling this time, instead of the usual 3 minutes.

I find some of these funny but this longer one was pretty weak, not really funny at all. him scraping the butter off the lid was the only semi funny part.

I'm guessing if you are not over 45 you would not get most of the humor and nostalgia .I actually think this is the best and most professional one he has done. Hell, I'd be willing to bet that Gypsies were never a topic of discussion ever with the younger crowd today.

The best Pittsburgh Dad video was the one someone recorded with their cell phone when that guy was loaded at a bar and having a meltdown because the Steelers were losing. Whether it was real or not it was funny. If it was staged it was an Andy Kaufman type trolling of his fans. I think he even referenced it in one of his bits afterward.

It was funny in the beginning but it's gotten repetitive. It's now the video version of Jim Krenn, who did the same schtick for 30 years.

Thanks for the link. Haven't seen his stuff in a while. It's no Wonder Years but this one had some good moments.

I might have cracked a slight smile at the Kenny chesner joke.

The van damme comment was funny, but I had to wait 2 mins to get to the punchline.

I have to admit, I find these somewhat repetitive but the "you can't blame Nashville fans for throwing garbage on the ice, they thought it was a Kenny Chesner concert" was friggin Yinzer comedic gold.

Ok, I'm 45 and I don't find the guy funny at all. I think the concept is brilliant, but they need a Dad who is actually funny and writers who are also funny.

I am going to attempt to watch this 13 minute short, and hope that I don't come away feeling like I do with all of the others...like I just wasted 3 minutes of my life that I am never getting back. Only this time...4X the amount of minutes lost.

there's really only one way to play "yinzer"

well i guess you could play "italian yinzer" or "polack yinzer" or "slovak yinzer" there are minor differences

Couple things that really connected for me and brought back good memories: the fridge filled with Huggies, Cherokee Red, and Iron. Smashing lightning bugs with a whiffle bat and saying you don't need to shower because you swam that day... used that one a lot.

I think he's funny because he's my Dad! So many things he complains about, my dad did the exact same thing. The small cans of soda are for adult drinks, you can't use the "company" towels, complaining constantly about how much things cost. Every episode I watch there is something my dad would always complain about.

I suppose it depends on your taste and personal childhood similarities to the materials. I am younger than 45 and find his videos highly entertaining.

This isn't the first time they made a "short film" either. They did a Back To The Future one, not sure which one I like better.

It's good for those of you who are into the nostalgia part of it.

Right. Taken by themselves, they probably aren't anywhere near as funny as they are if you have experienced someone like him.
