I know the football board is the place for tv and movie OT threads, but I thought this thread was better suited for the hoops board because the series I’m about to discuss is set in Chester, PA...and the more seasoned posters here know all about Chester!! So what’s one more Chester thread??

Mare of Easttown on HBO.

I have a Hard time starting a show when I know there are 40-50 episodes to catch up on...but Mare of Easttown is 1 season and 7 episodes and it was bingeable in one or two nights.

If you like crime/murder mystery, this is a good one. Kate Winslet is such a fantastic actress and Evan Peters was very good in a supporting role. I can’t imagine Winslet not being in an Emmy discussion for this role. There’s a bit of a twist or two, and anyone here from Eastern PA might have the added bonus of taking in the scenes and identifying local landmarks and references.

It didn’t pull me in immediately right from the get go like a lot of good shows do. It took a couple episodes for me but it ended up being pretty good with a number of plot twists down the stretch.

I enjoyed the show very much.

I liked it too. 7 episodes was the right number, it let the show stay tight and keep the pace up.

There were a few weird plotting issues, but overall it was a good watch.
