I can remember as a young child, growing up in the late 70's, Charles Manson was the boogie man. The older kids would tell us that if we went to the playground that Charles Manson would be there and eat us. We didn't even really know who he was. We just knew the name. Every monster just became Charles Manson. I don't think anyone under 30 even knows the story or who they were. I just saw a documentary on it a year or so ago and learned about it for the very first time. Its horrific by even today's standards.

PS: Sharon Tate was friggin' amazing. How did she end up with a degenerate like Polanski?
